  • A Perfect Vacation Spot

"I spent a week at this spot with three children and two other adults in mid-summer, and it was perfect. The sunsets are sublime, especially from the long, roomy, screened-in porch. The house is charming, with plenty of room and every sort of amenity I could think to need. The kids, aged 3 to 9, loved exploring the house and the Lake itself - it was a wonderful spot to bring kids. A great location - easy to get to all sorts of Vermont sites. The owner was extremely responsive and was a pleasure to book with. She was kindly there to greet us and to show us around and answer any questions. We didn't have any issues during our stay, but I felt quite sure that she would be immediately available if we did. I would highly recommend this spot as a really special place to stay."

  • LOVE THIS PLACE

"Perfect! We stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon and we were in bliss! The property is within walking distance to all of the places you want to be, but far away enough to feel like your own personal sanctuary. This place is spot on, beautifully furnished with everything you would need for a few days or a few weeks. Definitely, planning on another adventure to this awesome place so we can dine on rabbit croquets and pork belly tacos."

  • Excellent location, well appointed, wonderful stay

"We vacation every year with our extended family and close family friends and always with the same goal. -- find a nice place on the lake that has a lot of space for the kids to play outdoors, a generous porch for the adults, a decent kitchen, in a good location. We found exactly what we wanted at the Pines. It is clearly a well-loved summer home that has been in the same family for years and it has a nice, welcoming vibe to it as a result. It's comfortable but not fussy, well stocked with the basic necessities, and is in a great central location. The house is well kept and clean. The absence of a washer/dryer was only a small issue but having two refrigerators (one mysteriously stocked with the largest zucchini any of us had ever seen) was very helpful. The knives were sharp (if you've stayed in a lot of self-catering properties and like to cook, you know that's a big deal) and there were plenty of plates, bowls, forks/knives/spoons/pots/pans, etc. We also appreciated the extra life jackets, the strategically placed flashlights, and the games cupboard. The TV/Sat was great but we didn't use it too often aside from checking the weather forecast. Overall, we had a great time and I have to say that the owner, Jim, was especially helpful after the unexpected weather we had (big storm, lightening strike nearby, loss of electricity/wi-fi). We didn't venture too far. The kids fished, swam, and kayaked, and the adults mostly sat on the porch, caught up on our reading and napping. If you're looking for a family-centered, more traditional get-out-and-play vacation location, I would strongly recommend the Pines."

  • Thanksgiving at the "white house"

"This was our second year celebrating Thanksgiving at this property. The kitchen was large enough to accommodate all the cooks who were involved in the preparations. Love the master suite upstairs with a cup of coffee in the morning. Walking distance to the Brick Store for that extra whatever is needed. All in all, loved it and would recommend it."
