  • Wonderful

"Had such a lovely time in this beautifully-decorated and restored home. It was perfect for a girls weekend getaway! The owner greeted us personally, showed us around, and told us about the history of the home. She even put fresh flowers out for us to enjoy in the bedroom. The house is located in direct proximity to all the attractions in historic Sperryville, including the Stonewall Abbey yoga studio (most relaxing yoga class I have ever taken, and I don't usually like yoga), the Hopkins Ordinary Aleworks, Rudy's Pizza, Thornton River Grille, Copper Fox Distillery, Headmaster's Pub, etc. A ten-minute drive to the Thornton Gap Station entrance to the Shenandoah National Park, where we were dazzled by the leaves changing for fall. Great trip, would definitely go back!"

  • What a fantastic place!

"What a gem this place is! Bonny was extremely responsive throughout the booking process, and greeted us when we arrived to have us sign her guestbook and showed us around. After her greeting we had the whole place to ourselves (though Bonny was only a little ways off in case wee needed her). It is a perfectly isolated little spot in the woods, with a comfortable cabin (AC in August was important). We loved that there was no wifi or cell service (but there is just ways up the road if you need to connect now and then). The best part is that we were able to bring our two dogs--who LOVED it! The cabin is close to a couple of cute little towns and only about 15 minutes from Front Royal and the entrance the the Shenandoah National Park, where we went on a few hikes and even ran into a black bear on one of the trails. We saw deer in the creek one of the nights we were enjoying the fire pit, and were serenaded by chirping crickets and frogs. I can't wait to go back!"

  • Simply wonderful

"We enjoyed a fantastic week long vacation on Steve and Andrea's beautiful property. The farmhouse was classy, cosy and clean. The property was beautifully maintained. Our 7-year old daughter loved playing with all the animals and the independence she was able to have roaming the grounds. Our daily swim in the lake was a highlight. Steve and Andrea were welcoming, delightful, thoughtful and helpful when we needed them, but not at all intrusive. Our dog is deeply depressed to be home in the city. Highly recommend this property for a getaway or a longer term vacation. There's plenty to do in the area to keep everyone happy."

  • Perfect escape from the city..

"Couldn't have asked for anything more than what we received from Dick and Judy's guest house. Farm fresh eggs were awaiting us in the refrigerator. They have a little piece of heaven out there in sperryville. Being as close as you could possibly want to be to any of virginia's wineries and the quaint/cute town of sperryville. Would gladly stay again. Foot steps to hikes right down the driveway as well a short car ride away to white oak canyon and of course old rag which you can see from the front porch. Whether star gazing or vineyard touring or just flat out relaxing. It's a great place to call home away from home. Thanks Dick and Judy!"
