  • Enjoy Orcas Island in Comfort (w/o the Property Taxes!)

"Olga House is a well maintained home and very comfy to live in: we loved it! We were there for 8 nights and we easily could have stayed longer - much longer! :-) The house is just up the street from the Olga public access pier which is fun to walk out on. Later in the day you can sometimes watch the wind rip through the sound while staying in the lee as it's in a little cove. Orcas Island is super cool to visit - lots of interesting parks; if you're staying 3 days or more just buy the $30 30-day Discovery Pass as you ARE going to use it. One of our favorites is the lookout tower on Mount Constitution as it's QUITE the view! Olga Island is the largest of the San Juan Islands - it even has farm land (what can I say - this surprised me!) One of our favorite restaurants is the artist co-op called Catkin and it's just on the corner of Olga Road and Point Lawrence - you can easily walk to it from the house: everything on their menu is wonderful and the artist gallery is a beautiful space. Do you (or someone you're traveling with) like beer? Then check out the Island Hopping Brewery for a taste treat. Here's an unusual thing to mention: I love the tap water at Olga House! Seriously, I had a chance to talk with one of the gents that upgraded the Olga water system many years ago. They get their water from one of the mountain lakes and use a forced sand filtration system and a minimal amount of chlorination. The result is some of the best water around. FYI: I used to work in industrial control for water treatment plants so I know what I'm talking about here. So, leave the bottled water at home. Also, there is high speed internet and a VOIP phone that allows free calling anywhere in the USA! There's cable TV and a drawer full of DVDs, too. There are also a lot (and I mean A LOT) of little deer on the island. They aren't particularly afraid of people either! Dealing with the owners was a real pleasure, too. Both are great people and totally honest and up-front! They also have some very good suggestions on where to eat, in fact we used their suggestion and had our 25th anniversary dinner at the Inn At Ship Bay: amazingly good! But you MUST make reservations to get a table. What are you waiting for? Book this place!"

  • Whimsical and charming South Pacific decorations. Surrounded by trees and greenery.

"Bed was comfortable, water was piping hot, forced air heat was a plus, and the kitchen was well stocked with stainless steel sauce pans as well as oil, vinegar, and some spices. The skillets were made of teflon. All in all, a calm and peaceful place to have a stay."

  • Relaxing Labor Day weekend

"A perfectly relaxing weekend in a gorgeous setting. Plenty of space to socialize. A large kitchen to accommodate multiple cooks. The attention to detail in this home is outstanding! We took our road bikes and found many routes to cycle around the area with great views and few vehicles."

  • Wow Beautiful

"This is one of those places that is, without a doubt, unique in the world. The house is very private, quiet, and relaxing - that is what my wife Kim and I really liked. The appliances are top notch, the kitchen is well appointed, the bed is very comfortable, and most importantly the host, Michele, is amazing. The house has views that are second to none. We are looking forward to staying here again."
