  • Cute, cozy, and comfortable

"We stayed at River Rock Cottage from Dec. 26-30, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! When we arrived, there were Christmas lights on the front porch and inside were 3 cute Christmas trees! I'd read previous reviews that talked about all the food, and they were right! There were Christmas cookies, a basket of breakfast and snack foods, fresh fruit, and the refrigerator was stocked with everything we could possibly need and then some! The beds were very comfortable, although our 21 year old son chose to sleep on the huge couch in the den because at 6'5", the beds were a little too short for him! Peggy left information for everything we might need during our stay, and she responded immediately to my texts. We'd never stayed in an older house like this, so we really enjoyed it. The one and only thing I'd love to have changed is to have a bathroom upstairs too, but we were warned in advance that there was only one and it was downstairs. It wasn't a problem at all, and there were even supplies in the bathroom in case we'd forgotten anything. We had a great time and will definitely stay here again!"

  • More than your average rental!

"This home is so beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. With so much room for a great price and all of the comforts of home, this family home is far from the "standard VRBO home". Decorated with warmth and charm, this home impresses from the first key turn to checkout. The peaceful view of the river was just what we were hoping for. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We'd love to stay again! Oh and after reading other reviews, the driveway is steep but manageable. We had no trouble with it at all."

  • Fantastic farm getaway

"This is a lovely property approximately 8 miles, but 25 min. from Athens, OH and the University. I happened to be attending commencement and this was a great stay. Other than the difficulty finding the place after dark on a Friday night, our stay was enjoyable. The guest house is large and has four separate rooms, two baths and a common living/dining area and kitchen. We had one lady the first night and a couple both nights who shared the house. There was no problem at all and we were all comfortable. We had three adults in our room and there was plenty of space. The owners are thoughtful and had breakfast: eggs, meats, butter and bread available to cook our own breakfast. Beer and juices in the fridge and coffee beans to make fresh coffee. They provide towels and linens so it was great to just show up. It is a working farm and we enjoyed the pigs and dogs. The roads to get here are very windy and dirt in places. You really need to drive slowly so it takes longer than you think to get to the town."
