Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We had accumpulated several rentals and sold them to buy this one, with the idea that we would live here eventually.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I would say the two best features are the front porch, and the fact that there are two separate living areas, allowing multi generational families two spaces to congregate.

My family of 10 stayed her while we attended a wedding in Charleston Everyone had a wonderful time. The younger ones were able to spend a day at the beach and the access was really close. The weather was nice. They enjoyed bike riding and shopping and the restaurants right down the road. I certainly would highly recommend this place to everyone. It was very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with dishes and cutlery. The owners were very easy to work with.

My family stayed here to attend a wedding in Charleston. We thought it was great. My children all got to go to the beach, which was easy to get to. Also, shopping and eating at the nearby restaurants was really good. The drive to the wedding and reception was good as well as sightseeing in Charleston. I would highly recommend this place to large families since the price was very good and everything , including linens were provided. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cutlery.

This was a perfect place to stay for my husband and me, our younger son, and our older son with his wife and two children, 4 and 2 1/2. Our granddaughter was married in Charleston, and we spent time to vacation as well as spend with family. The little children could sleep downstairs, and their folks could come upstairs to spend time with us. We especially enjoyed the porch with a view and the sound of the ocean. There was only a short walk to the beach, closer than walking from a parking lot at any other beach. The beach house had a great assortment of kitchen items from pots and pans to serving spoons. We prepared some pretty nice meals here. Since we now have family in Charleston, we will plan some vacations and hope to rent this home again. Travel to the penisula, to Sullivan's Island, to the airport, and to Fenwick Hall were easily navigated. Folly Beach is also a fun little area. I highly recommend this home.

Five people and three dogs checked in on Labor Day and we all loved it! Yard was big and fenced in; property was very well maintained! Best view from upstairs porch of the ocean and lots of dolphins! We plan on going back and staying here again - the owner, James, was great and very informative. We loved the Lost Dog Cafe and anyplace we could get fresh seafood! The photos show the property very well. There's no place on earth like Folly Beach!

WE LOVED THIS HOUSE!!!! Our family of 6 + 2 dogs drove down from New York to move our youngest daughter into College of Charleston.Other than visits to tour the school we were unfamiliar with the area. We are so glad we decided to make a family vacation out of this and rent a house on Folly Beach. The owner was a pleasure to work with, making the rental process easy. The property exceeded our expectations and was wonderfully equipped and stocked with all those little extras (like soap and toilet paper) that we have had to run out and buy at other rentals. It's location across the street and one house down from the public beach access was SO convenient. My husband and I enjoyed our morning walks with the dogs on the beach (dogs allowed on beach until 10 am and after 6pm).The set up of the house allowed for fun family time in the large kithchen/living/dining room area or large screened in porch upstairs in the evening, but also allowed privacy and quiet with the enormous master bedroom with large tub and double shower for us downstairs. We used the provided charcoal grill and barbequed one evening (word to the wise...bring insect repellent! Folly mosquitos are voracious!!). Having the fenced in yard was great with the dogs. We are already planning a return for next years move in !!!

Just stayed in this wonderful home for the second time. We love the location with the ocean view and close proximity of the public beach access. The layout of the home is perfect for our family and the fenced yard for our dog is a big plus! The property is very clean, well maintained and the kitchen is very well equipped. We've been coming to Folly Beach for years and this is a great vacation home... we'll be staying here as long as it's available... we already have another week booked over the holidays and we've got definite plans to return next summer!

The view shown of the ocean can be seen from the kitchen, dining room, and front porch! The beds were comfy and clean, as was the whole house. The 20 year olds both walked and biked to the center of town. My 89 year old father had no complaints about the walk to the ocean, (which has not been the case with some of our past rentals). The only comment is that the downstairs master bedroom needs deep sleepers, as the other lower bedroom needs to share this bathroom, or navigate the spiral stairs while sleep walking. We are definitely coming back.

This beach house was beyond my expectations. The pictures online simply do not do this place justice; the main living area is open and airy and all the bedrooms are very nice sizes. The screened front porch with view of the ocean was put to use by my family on a daily basis and the fenced in yard was wonderful as we were able to take our two dogs. The house is only two houses away from beach access which makes it convenient for walking over with beach gear, children, or dogs. Downtown Folly Beach is within bike riding distance. This was my family’s first trip to Folly and we LOVED it! It’s very laid back and dog friendly. The owners were a breeze to work with and offered a tip to try The Lost Dog Café for breakfast (which is delicious by the way). I highly recommend this property!

Our book club stayed here for the weekend for a retreat. There were 12 women and we were very comfortable. The property was very nicely kept and the rooms were spacious and beautiful. We only had to walk a very short distance across the street to get to the beach. The owners were delightful and extremely helpful. We look forward to staying there again next year!!!

Great house! Very close to a walk over to the beach. The yard is large and fenced. The house is great for several couples if needed. We took our daughter, son-in law and new granddaughter. Had plenty of room. Great screened in front porch and you can hear and see the ocean from there. The only draw back is the indoor staircase to the second floor is a free-standing spiral and is hard to maneuver with your hands full.
