This apartment is the entire floor of a newly renovated townhouse located in the heart of the Upper East Side (East 80's). This historic, 1890’s brownstone is just five blocks straight East from the Metropolitan Art Museum and Central Park. It is very centrally located to transportation, museums, shops and cafes. It is a very charming block with mostly row-houses. If you ever saw the movie "You've Got Mail" with Meg Ryan...this is about as close as it gets.
It recently underwent a mulit-million dollar renovation and now houses three apartments (two are short-term) and one is the owner’s duplex. The rental apartment is only used for short-term stays and both units are furnished identical and have the same floor plan. One unit is the 2nd floor and the other unit is the 3rd floor.
The apartment has the feel of a luxurious hotel suite comparable to a four star hotel. The furnishings are attractive and comfortable. The bedding is 1st quality, including pillow top mattresses, down comforters, down pillows, and Egyptian cotton sheets. The apartment has one bedroom with a king bed, two bedrooms with a queen bed and one bedroom with a full bed. (please keep in mind that the second bedroom is accessed through the master bedroom.)
The living room has a 32 inch plasma screen tv as well as a large tv in the master bedroom. Both tv's have full cable with HBO. The apartment has a secured wireless internet for access with your personal computer. The apartment has central air conditioning.
There is a new and well stocked kitchen in addition to a washer and dryer inside the apartment. We are very family friendly and children are always welcome. We keep a portable crib and high chair in each apartment along with a basket of toys. We can NOT accommodate pets and NO smoking in the apartment. There is a fair amount of street parking for cars and a reasonable priced garage on the block. There are several gourmet food markets in the area and even a full sized grocery store just around the corner.

We are a young couple with four kids. Originally both from Utah, We have lived in the city for 15 years. I graduated from Columbia University and used to work for in management consulting. Now I run the rental units and enjoy staying home with my children. My husband works in business development for a software company here in the city.
Why the Owner Chose Upper East Side
Prior to buying our building, we lived in four neighborhoods with in NYC. There is a reason why most long term residents of NYC eventually migrate to the Upper East Side. It is similar to Hyde Park in London. The Upper East Side is consistently manicured with clean sidewalks, flower boxes and splendid street cafes and boutique shops. In fact, it is such a nice neighborhood we send our oldest son to the public elementary school.
The real draw for the Upper East Side is Central Park. We are located a five minute walk to some on the prettiest areas of the park.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
This will be a completely different experience than staying at a midtown hotel. While only a five minute cab or subway from Grand Central Station, this location is far less bohemian and noisy. You will hear birds out the window, see squirrels in the trees and have people greet you as you walk down the street. The city gets overwhelming if you are running around seeing tourist sites. Our guests all comment how nice it is to come back to a peaceful setting. I guarantee after three days you will consider yourself a New Yorker.

My daughters, sisters, niece and I rented the top floor apartment for a girls getaway to celebrate my 50th birthday. The apartment was perfect for us - it was well-located, clean, safe and gave us the opportunity/space to comfortably "hang out" together that 2 hotel rooms just wouldn't have provided. It has great access to restaurants, Central Park and the subway - but we walked miles and loved it. We had a fantastic time in NYC and would highly recommend this apartment as your home-away-from home base!

I hired BOTH of these apartments from the 15th-24th September 2010. They were both immaculate, well presented and SO easy and convenient for the 12 of us (6 in each apartment). The amount of bathrooms meant we were all completely independant and never had to queue for the shower! We felt so safe in this residental area, it's so local with everything on your doorstep (including a school should you want to get rid of the kids for a bit.... JUST KIDDING!!!) The owner is so friendly and her daugther is gorgeous; I think I made her day when she saw me in my wedding dress! My make-up artist for the big day found the apartment easily and thought it was very luxurious (and she's a local new yorker!). It really is the perfect place to stay, so much so I will never be using a hotel again in NYC for as long as this unit is available! I have never felt so safe in my OWN ENGLISH home town as I did walking the local streets near this apartment! You have 3 sets of keys, 3 bathrooms, 3 toilets, 4 beds and they are all good sized bedrooms- what more could you want? This unit really is a hidden gem and I am so glad I found it because it was SO much better than staying in a hotel! I would have complete confidence to return to this neighbourhood with young BABIES, never mind children. That is really how safe I felt!!! Honestly! Also, if you are looking for a nice season to visit new york september was ideal, weather fab- even got caught in a "tornado" and a thunderstorm! Thankfully NOT on the wedding day!! Thanks SO much for letting us stay, and hope we didn't leave too much stuff but you did say the housekeeper appreciated left over food and toiletries!!! Right, first comes love, marriage, better stop writing reviews and start having babies!! So I can bring them back to NYC and show them where there "Mommy and Daddy" got married!! Thanks again- couldn't have asked for a more brilliant place to stay- we are already spreading the word across England!! :)

We recently spent a lovely 4 nights at this apartment on the Upper East Side. The brownstone itself was well maintained and in a great location. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor...a bit cumbersome with lots of heavy luggage...would be very hard on elderly or physically challenged guests. The inside of the apartment was quite spacious, by NYC standards. Our group included my husband and 2 children (ages 8 and 10) and a brother and sister-in-law. There were plenty of high quality bedding and bath towels for all. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished for what we needed. The property manager was easy to deal with. Found a GREAT restaurant...ALLORO...just 5 short blocks down 2nd Ave. There's also a 24 hr parking garage just a bit down the street, a convenient place to safely stash the car while in the City. We would definately recommend this property and re-book here. It was so nice to end a busy day in the City by coming 'home' each night to this brownstone in a real, non-touristy residential area.

My family (6 adults) stayed in the 3rd floor apartment in April 2010. We spent a fabulous 4 nights/5 days kicking around NYC and always felt at home coming back each night. The rooms were comfortable with and we had plenty of space for all of us. Anne was very kind to visit with us a couple of times and ask if there was anything else we needed. The apartment was within a few blocks of a subway stop and we were surprised with all the food, restuarants and shopping close by. We would highly recommend a stay here for anyone who wants space you can't get in a Manhattan hotel!

I stayed in the top unit with 6 other family members during July 2008. The unit was perfect for us. Perhaps not as swanky as a mid-town hotel but it had everything we needed and gave us a real feel of "living" in NYC. The location couldn't be beat, close to Central Park and subway. The neighborhood was great, lots of places to shop and eat and we felt safe even late at night. I would recommend going this route over an hotel anyday. I can't wait to come back again!

This was a really nice appartment in Upper East Side. It has enough space for the 5 persons we were with. It's has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The three bathrooms and the two tv's were quite a luxery for us. There's a big supermarket nearby, good for the groceries and the fresh bread in the morning. The area is filled with nice restaurants, but it's a quiet street day and night, so good for sleeping. We enjoyed our stay very much!!!

Great beds, bedding and towels. It had everything we needed...even umbrellas! Great neighborhood with lots of restaurants, shopping and food stores nearby. The subway was about a 10 minute walk. We even walked home at midnight and felt safe. We just wish we had more time to spend exploring "our neghborhood," but maybe next time. We would definitely consider staying here again!
