Cute Log Cabin! Walking Distance to Town and 4 Miles to Rocky Mtn National Park
- Minimum stay:Contact owner
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
A true mountain get-away, the log cabin was built in 1909 as a ranger cabin in the National Park and then moved to our location in 1966. Perfect for a romantic get-away or family vacation. Furnished with pine furniture, this warm and cozy cabin will feel like home the moment you arrive. Pets are welcome with certain restrictions. As owners, we live in town and will happily assist you with any questions you may have.
Our convenient location near town will allow you the opportunity to stroll the shops and restaurants of Estes Park without having to locate a hard-to-find parking spot. Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and the cabin is just 4 miles from the entrance to the park.
Visit Estes Park this summer and escape the heat in our cool mountain air. Hike the hundreds of miles of trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, walk to free concerts at Performance Park, horse back ride through a mountain meadow or simply relax on the porch of your cabin.
Winter offers snow-shoeing, cross country skiing and sledding in Rocky Mountain Nations Park or just relaxing with a cup of coffee and a good book. The crowds are gone, the air is crisp and snow is often gently falling. Enjoy viewing the wildlife - sometimes right in town! Dine at Estes Park's finest restaurants, many offering winter specials and smaller crowds. Eldora Ski Area is just 45 minutes away and offers beginner to expert terrain.
Return in the fall - take a walk below a canopy of golden aspen, fly fish in a flowing river or watch the Elk lock antlers and bugle during the rut.
Whatever the season, the Deer Ridge Cabin is the perfect home base for your Rocky Mountain adventure.
The cabin has recently had a face lift with new exterior paint, new memory foam mattress on the sleeper sofa (we've actually found a way to offer a comfortable sleeper sofa!) and updated furnishings.

This small cabin is the most true and entertaining place to relax. In the heart of town you can walk out and enjoy quaint Estes. In the heart of National Forest it's only a short drive for the best hikes, snowshoeing, wildlife. But you don't really have to go far for wildlife, a group of 6 Does spent all day outside our window!! The best part was the quiet.....we played cards, napped, and enjoyed the stars, a TRUE GETAWAY.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Quiet, convenient location. Cabin is in good repair. We got a very good rate. But unit needs a good cleaning, beyond the obvious surfaces. Also, there is no light in the living room area, bedroom screen allows bugs in, kitchen clock stuck in place, weedy overgrown yard end entry need attention, window thermometer stuck on 80 degrees, frayed curtain linings, the clock worked on the clock radio but the radio didn't. We are seasoned backpackers so we managed OK, but this unit is definitely marginal as a rental. The owner was congenial. Just a little work would greatly improve the unit.Owner response: The cabin has received a thorough cleaning - literally every piece of furniture and equipment has been removed and cleaned. All items noted in the review have been repaired or replaced. The place is now spotless and ready for your vacation!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: In addition to owning the Deer Ridge Cabin, we run a local catering company and also a small special event venue - the Bristlecone Inn. We love living here in Estes Park and are happy to assist you with any planning questions or recommendations you many have.
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park:
We purchased this location due to it's convenient access to downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Parking in the summer can be a real challenge so being able to walk to town is a real plus. The park entrance is just 4 miles away so it's easy to come back for lunch or take a evening drive after dinner to view the wild life.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin has that beautiful rustic feel. You really feel like you've stepped back in time but at the same time it has all the modern conveniences you want when travelling.
