Why the Owner Chose Blowing Rock

We've vacationed around the world, however, always enjoyed 'coming home' to Blowing Rock. The abundance of arts and crafts, nature hiking, rafting, horse back riding makes this area of NC a peaceful retreat. The mountain views are breathtaking in this area as well.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Privacy! Galore! The cabin is away from the hustle and bustle in downtown Blowing Rock but close to all amenities. While neighbors are nearby, one can lose sight of them in our backyard. Our porch is our formal living room! It's Mother Nature's too!

Owner's Map of Blowing Rock

We're native North Carolinians who now happily reside in Winter Park, Florida with our 3 pet dogs and cat. Our ancestors, the Sherrills and Wombles, were some of the earliest NC settlers and we've tried to respect and reveal our heritage in the cabin's interior. A picture of us on a recent trip to South Africa!

Lovely, Comfortable Home

We had a wonderful stay in this house! The deck was so perfect that we ate every meal out there! The house felt comfortable and homey which is such a pleasure after staying in hotels on vacation. It was also nicely decorated - so nice that I had to put many things up out of reach of my two-year old. Dealing with Sandy was a delight. When we told her about some of the "dangers" for families with small children, she took measures to correct them. Thanks Sandy - we'll be back next year!!

We stayed at Cherokee Lodge over Labor Day and were delighted to find a warm, cozy, well appointed home. The deck, with a view of Grandfather Mountain is "the place" for us!This house has 3 floors, so it is very private with a bedroom and bath on each floor. Also, there is a den downstairs, which we loved for our grand children. The kitchen is great...don't bother to bring any spices! We'll be back, and thanks for sharing your home with us.

Cherokee Lodge is a lovely, cozy and comfortable mountain cabin. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated, it has all the comforts of home, the kitchen is a wonderful place to explore your creativity, and the rear deck--oh my, you will never want to leave it, especially with the view of Grandfather Mountain. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful, restful, relaxing, renewing, cool, clean -- are just a few words to describe the home. Our dog loved the rear deck, which is gated, she would have stayed an extra week on her own! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. We hope to return often!
