This 3BR/2BA NON-SMOKING Condominium is in the Summer House Complex, a class above the other resorts, and a gated community. It has breathtaking views for miles and miles from its 14th floor tiled balcony that wraps around our corner unit. Now, this balcony is SO big you can lay on the lounge chair and still have room at your feet for someone to pass in front of you! ALL of you will have enough room to sit on the balcony at one time, not in shifts! You can watch the dolphins play! Hear the waves, sip that morning coffee in peaceful bliss, see the stars, ships, manta rays, toast the sunset...

You'll be surrounded in luxury in this completely furnished unit with many extras, such as a full size washer and dryer, full stereo with CD player, four DVD players! Flat screen TV's in every room! Master bedroom is gulf-front, with a king bed and its' own door to the huge balcony. The side bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has twin beds and also a 25 inch TV with VCR! Blackout curtains in all so you might get a chance to sleep in - maybe the kids will too?
Each bedroom opens to the balcony. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa. Two full-size bathrooms - the master has the HUGE walk in shower and was just totally remodeled for your comfort and use, the guest has the HUGE bathtub!! Soft white towels for eight, and clean fresh egyptian sheets on all the beds will be waiting! Every room has been freshly redecorated and updated! We even have a "butler" to great you and hold your keys! (He keeps all secrets too, what happens at the beach stays at the beach!)Totally equipped kitchen with all stainless steel NEW appliances and EVERY possible item provided -coffee maker, grinder, blender, bagel toaster,all new cookware too!

Year Purchased: 1997
I am in my early 50's, as is my husband. We moved from Michigan in 2006 after my husband received a "forced" retirement from General Motors. Living in Alabama was a lifelong dream of mine, as I had visited different parts of the state many times. Fortunately my husband fell in love with the beach too. He is currently working at an airplane manufacturing company in Foley, while I work for an insurance salesman in Pensacola. We hope someday to actually truly retire and look forward to staying at Summer House with an indefinite length of time - no end date to head somewhere else!
Added note: April 2011: We just returned from a week cruising the Hawaiian Islands. It was beautiful -BUT- as soon as we could the same day we returned, we headed for Summer House to enjoy OUR BEACH...just as pretty to us!
Why the Owner Chose Summerhouse
In 1989 my family began vacationing in Orange Beach. We loved it so much we purchased a two bed/two bath ocean SIDE condo up the street from Summer House. WE loved THAT so much we knew we would want to retire here someday, and needed a bigger condo to accommodate our children and their families later. In checking the different resorts, Summer House stood out way ahead of any other condo around. I remember looking up at the building from the two-tiered pool side and asking my husband if he thought we could ever be able to be so fortunate to own a unit there! In 1997 our dream was realized as we bought 1406A. We have since retired and moved nearby, not quite able to afford full time retirement at the beach just yet. But we visit weekly, if not daily, and take tremendous pride in keeping it in the "ahhh" category we first experienced when we entered our condo. We hope you feel the same.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
The balcony is number one - to eat, rest or visit on. Walking the beach, the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Nearby shopping is so convenient for fun or groceries. Sometimes we have forgotten how much fun it is to play miniature golf with family of all ages! Personally, I prefer to just do dolphin watch 8-10 hours a day from the boardwalk by the pool. I used to offer a dollar to the first person who could spot a dolphin for me! Still works to this day!

My wife and I have stayed at the Summer House for the past three years, this one being our first at Dean and Sandy's condo. Everything was fantastic, the rooms were spacious having all the comforts of home. The wrap around balcony enabled one to enjoy both spectacular sunrises and sunsets, along with the privacy of enjoying the sun all day. Sandy and Dean were easy and cooperative to deal with and their little extras were quite surprising. We look forward to booking for 2012 and recommend you do also. Stayed here for 4 nights. Beautiful view. Condo was clean and updated. Attention to detail was evident. 14th floor is advantageous for viewing Dolphin. Most of our time was spent on the deck. Would recommend.

Perfect! Easter vacation 2011 (last week of April) and weather was great! Leaving the doors open and listening to the ocean...calming as my 8-year old daughter put it. Condo layout is great and floor plan is well utilized. Two walls of large patio doors (corner unit) gives it an open and airy feel. Saw 2 other condo's of friends (different complexes)..wall to wall tile and sterile feel, with large foyers and small living spaces. Additionally, 1 was probably 200-300 YARDS from the ocean from the back of the unit, while still on the beach. Others will advertise "directly across the street from grocery store." So what! You are not walking across that 5-lane road. And if you make it, who wants to carry a bunch of groceries 1/8 of a mile? I much prefer to drive 2 minutes to the store and have the ocean at my backdoor +200 feet (that is why you are here!) than to make multiple long walks through the sand each day just to be across the street from the store. The updates are contemporary and clean. Plenty of large living space for a family of 4+, and the balcony is killer. I cannot say enough nice things about the unit or Sandy the owner. Our trip was so great, we extended it by a day. 14th fl and no issues with the elevators. The friends also commented that ours was the nicest unit by far. It feels much more like a beach home than a beach rental. We are already looking forward to a return visit.

This was our second visit to Sandy and Dean's condo. They make everything about the rental process easy. Waking up with the sounds of the surf and then watching the dolphins swim by with my morning coffee is heaven! The place is well stocked, clean and ready for living. The master bathroom has just been remodeled with a large shower. My Granddaughter loves the option of going to the beach, the outdoor pool or the indoor pool.

We just got home from a wonderful time at Dean and Sandy's condo. We have stayed at Summer House for the last 3 years and this condo was exactly what we needed for our family. We didn't feel were on top of each other and the wrap around balcony was great. We were hesitate about making the trip due to the oil spill but I am so glad we decided to go. The pool area is so spacious and nice we were able to walk on the beach but just didn't get in the ocean. I don't feel we missed anything not being able to get in the ocean everything else made up for it. We will be back!!
