  Hanalei Bay Resort 4221. Our stay was Oct 14-18, 2010. Wow, wow, wow! What a treat for us with that killer Bali Hai view!!! Just opening the front door and you get the view! 4221 is a large privately owned condo suite with the most comfortable king bed and yes, even laying in bed you get the view!!! Gorgeous furnishings. Flat screen TV, small fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender and a closet full of beach goodies like snorkels, boogie boards, binoculars - under the bed are beach chairs. HBR grounds are so beautiful too and the big pool and the Jacuzzi with the sand bottom and waterfalls...holy cow...they light the Tiki torches at night - the pool is open till 9:00 pm. Take my word for it - stay at least for a few nights at HBR - it is so worth it.

  My fiance and I recently stayed 4 nights in the 4221 studio suite and now cannot stop talking about how much we want to return! During our 2 week trip to Hawaii, we stayed at 4 properties including a luxury resort and this was by far our favorite place during the trip. The views from the balcony were amazing and we watched the sunset there every night. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on, and the room was plenty spacious for two. The shower is quite large and we found all the amenities we needed. Hanalei Bay Resort is very convenient to the main Princeville shopping center and is only a short drive to Hanalei. We loved our daily routine of exchanging our towels at the front desk in the morning, stopping in Princeville Village for a quick breakfast, and heading over the bridge toward Hanalei to explore that part of the North Shore. I would recommend Joan's condo for anyone looking for an affordable, pleasant stay in the Hanalei/Princeville area!

  “Unit #4221” Reviewed September 11, 2012 NEW (trip advisor) The resort has an outstanding location and good amenities (except for the fact that there is no on-sight restaurant or pool bar after a fire last year). There are two pools - one big with extensive landscaping, and a small round pool with beautiful views over Hanalei Bay and the mountains beyond. When we were there in early August there was almost no crowd - one day we had the small pool all for ourselves. We stayed in unit #4221 (owned by Joan Bettencourt), which has a balcony with stunning views over Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai (you can actually see Bali Hai from the bed). A lot of useful stuff was provided in the apartment - e.g. beach chairs, boogie board, snorkel equipment, tennis equipment - which was really useful during our stay on the north shore. Also note that the HBR share their beach (which requires a 3-5 minute walk to get to) with the St Regis Princeville. The beach has a stunning location with what is probably one of the best beach views in the world (Hanalei Bay and north shore mountains beyond), but note that there are other beaches on the north shore that you really don't want to miss (in particular Tunnels Beach, but also Ke'e Beach). So if you don't have an enormous budget, stay at the HBR instead of St Regis and just snap some pictures at the HBR/St Regis Beach (Pu'u Poa Beach) - you are gonna want to go on a lot of half day/day trips anyway. Unit 4221 is highly recommended!

  Just wanted to let you know we had a great time in your place. The view really is fabulous!We are are loving our stay so far at Kiahuna too, but getting bit up by sand fleas. That has never been a problem before...Weather on Kauai is perfect, a little hot yesterday. Again thanks.
