2 families used this roomy, well equipped house as our "home base" for a 5 day stay for our San Diego niece's wedding. A total of 9 of us stayed at the house - 4 adults & 5 kids. The location was great for all of our active families - running to, on & from the Ocean Beach pier; walking distance to great restaurants (The Joint, Newbreak Cafe, Ciao Bella, Shades) and an easy walk to the beach & surf. And easy access to all the freeways to see the great attractions of SD -- USS Midway, SD Zoo, Old Town area, Balboa Park and La Jolla Cove. We enjoyed a family BBQ dinner with other family members from Colorado, Missouri & Michigan and the newlyweds - the kitchen had all the dishes, serving platters & bowls, silverware we needed and plenty of room for a memorable family gathering. The owners were very helpful before and during our stay -- super folks. Highly Recommend this Ocean Beach Home!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Owners were readily available for questions and our conversations were friendly and easy! Property has a fantastic location to Ocean Beach's "downtown" and the beach. Also, very close to other San Diego attractions...San Diego Zoo, Sea World, etc. Owners thought of everything! Beach toys/chairs/towels were laid out for us. Food we requested was waiting for us in the fridge...a thoughtful touch! If you are staying in the area, the La Jolla Aquarium is a must see, as well as eating a meal at The Beach House in Cardiff by the Sea. Renter should be aware that the property is in the flight path of the San Diego airport. Expect low-flying plane noise every 10-15 minutes or so during daylight hours.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

This home was perfect for our family!! The stroll to and from the beach was just fabulous! My little ones just loved that we could wake up and walk to and from the beach all day. The home was nicely stocked with extras and the kitchen is great. The yard is fun for the kids and relaxing for the adults. The owners are very helpful and kind. This rental made planning our vacation a breeze! We will definitely stay here on our next trip to San Diego!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay in Ocean Beach. There is so much to do and see in San Diego, and OB ("Ocean Beach") is a great home base. Andrew and Amy (the owners) were very attentive and helpful hosts. They are thoughtful and prompt with any sort of questions and concerns that come up. The location of this rental is perfect for a visit to OB. It's Quiet and Peaceful, but also close to downtown, the Beach and less than 5 minutes to the freeway. This property is very conveniently located: it’s within an easy walk of the beach, groceries, many restaurants (some of them very good!), and boutique shops, and a convenient drive to everything else in San Diego. It was clean, well cared for, and well-equipped. On top of all that, the owner was very attentive and easy to deal with. One of the earlier reviews mentioned it is on the airport flight path, but for a winter rental like ours the windows were closed at night so we hardly noticed. Probably the best thing about the place is its value. Though high for its size and amenities compared to the East Coast rentals we have done, we did a lot of checking and it was by far the best value we found anywhere near San Diego over the holidays. If we come through San Diego again, we'll definitely try to stay there again, and in the meantime will refer our friends.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Just got back from a weeks stay at this house in Ocean Beach. The house is everything you could want. Plenty of space, easy access to the sights and close to the beach, groceries etc. The area is worth a visit in its own right with its collection of locally owned shops, cafes and bars. Not a chain store in sight. I have been visiting San Diego annually for the past few years (a different area each time) and rate this area as my personal favourite.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

What a great place to stay in OB! Most of the rentals we've visited within walking distance to OB are quite small, but we had tons of room here! The rooms really are as big as they look! The kitchen had every amenity, and there were tons of towels, toys, etc. Additionally, Amy was great to work with. She even had snacks - fruit, vegies, and juice - waiting for us upon arrival. Thanks for providing us with such a homey place to stay!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a great time! Backyard was perfect, space was perfect. Much bigger than it looked in the pictures. Very kid friendly for my 3 and 1 year old. We would definitely return! This was the best vacation we've ever had. Truly a special place! And the owner, Amy, was a dream. She was always available for questions and I never waited more than a few hours for any email response. We can't wait to go back!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

What nobody here mentions is that Ocean Beach and this property are directly in the flight path of the San Diego Airport. From 6:30am-10:00pm every single day you hear the deafening roar of airplanes flying overhead every 2 minutes. This wouldn't be a huge deal if you could close the doors and windows and turn on the A/C, but there is no A/C - hey, it's San Diego and the weather is perfect! Overall, the property felt a little grungy. Nothing felt or smelled particularly clean. The owners offered to put some groceries in the fridge if we provided a small list so that we wouldn't have to go to the store upon arrival. We checked in at 3:45 (15 minutes early) and were assured by the cleaners that they were finished and we could come on in. The fridge was empty and when we inquired, we were told that groceries weren't provided because we showed up early. It's one of those little meaningless things but we felt snubbed. We had to trudge off to the store to get milk and dinner, when clearly the cleaners would not have managed to pull that off in 15 minutes if we'd shown up at 4. The last little straw was the owner accepting paypal for a security deposit, and then taking the paypal fee out of our refund. Come on, we just paid a small fortune and you can't cover the nine bucks? If we had stayed here during low season and at a reasonable rate, I would forgive some of these things. But we stayed here during peak season and paid more money than we have ever paid for a rental before. As such, we expected a little better. I honestly wish we had stayed at a hotel for our vacation - we would have spent less and it would have been cleaner and quieter. The layout is fine and the location within Ocean Beach is okay, but with children it's too far to walk to the beach. Ocean Beach itself is a cute community and is well located within San Diego - easy access to all attractions.Owner response: Please...take a moment to read EVERY other Review here. They are 100% Positive, and reflect the amenities our Home offers. We greatly prefer the opportunity to communicate directly with our Guests, so we may address their needs and assure a pleasant stay. It seems an inexpensive hotel stay is a more fitting option for your family's next vacation.
