"The Boss's Playhouse" features your very own private pool and hot tub and many amenities to keep you busy when not at the beach. With a ground level recreation room complete with full-size billiard table, entertainment center with TV, VCR and Stereo, wet Bar, full-size extra refrigerator, game table, sleeper sofa, day bed and full bath.
Mid level features two private bedrooms with masters baths, one with king and one with queen. Also on this level a bunk bedroom with a Duo-bunk (double on bottom -twin on top and twin trundle) and queen bedroom share a bath between them. Each Bedroom has it's own TV mounted on the wall for better viewing.
The top level features a great room with comfortable seating, entertainment center with 32 inch TV, another stereo, VCR, DVD player, dining area, full kitchen well appointed with large bar area, king bedroom and full bath. From this level the deck has views of the horizon of the ocean, or overlook of the pool area below. This deck area features a roof top lookout of the Wright Memorial. Nothing has been missed.

The house, private pool, hot tub and grounds were immaculate, considering Hurricane Irene had passed through two weeks prior to our visit. The property was well-maintained. We were looking for a place we could relax, if we wanted, or sight-see, if we preferred. The house was much larger than we needed for two couples, but it was nice having a king-size bed and a private bath for each. We had great, fun times in the swimming pool, and spent a lot of time in the game room playing dominoes on the game table and using the pool table. We sometimes walked to the public access beach and sometimes drove, depending on how much "stuff" we needed to take with us. The owner stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. We found a great restaurant close by that we had never been to: Port-O-Call, where the food and service were both wonderful. Everyone should try their specialty dessert, creme brulee. We visited Roanoke Island Festival Park, the Wright Brothers Memorial and the Currituck and Bodie Lighthouses (the bridge was out and we couldn't go any farther south from Bodie). We will definitely consider the Boss's Playhouse for a larger family gathering next year, if it's available. This was ten times better than a hotel room stay. Many thanks to the owner and manager for making the rental experience so easy and enjoyable.

I would recommend this property to families and will truly consider it for next year. The beach access was a little bit of a bother for my knees but I just put the chairs in the car. The house was exceptionally clean as compared to many places we have stayed. The kitchen pans need replacing but we managed. For anyone who has not attended The Lost Colony I highly recommend it and begin with a dinner at Darrell's in Manteo.
