Nestled amongst the pines and cedars of the Sierras, our mountain home is the perfect place for a vacation any time of the year. Located in Sugar Pine, California, off Sonora Pass (Hwy 108), it is minutes from the historical gold rush communities of Sonora, Jamestown, Columbia, and Twain Harte. Beautiful Pinecrest Lake and the Dodge Ridge Ski Resort are just a short drive away, and Yosemite is close enough for a day-trip.

Our cabin is truly a home-away-from-home. It is a spacious tri-level home, located on a quiet cul-de-sac, amid two-hundred foot tall pine and cedar trees. Guests have access to Sugar Pine Lake, a private lake that is only a three-minute walk from the cabin. There is also a lovely trail that meanders alongside the small creek at the back of the property.

Our goal is to provide discriminating travelers with a clean, comfortable retreat in which to reside while they ski, hike, swim, boat, fish, or simply relax. We have taken great care to create an inviting getaway for our guests. Although we call it our cabin, it is actually a fully-furnished and tastefully decorated mountain home. We have chosen natural, warm colors, with a Native American influence. The decor is in harmony with the locale, as it was once home to the Mi Wuk Indians. We are proud of our family-oriented vacation cabin and invite you to vacation at Sugar Pine Cabin.

This cabin has access to a private lake included. The lake has a swimming beach, dive platform and fishing areas. The lake is a three minute walk from the cabin. The lake is fenced and gated, and access is via key.

I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing and fun family vacation! There is plenty of room for everyone to sleep with 3 bedrooms plus a loft w/6 beds, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 3 TVs, cozy fireplace, big deck, and spacious dining room to fit everyone for meals, games, or just hanging out together. Lots of fun stuff to do nearby as well, Pinecrest Lake fun in the summer or winter, fishing numerous lakes and rivers, Dodge Ridge, Yosemite, shopping downtown Sonora or Twainharte, wonderful coffee and treats at Alicia's Sugar Shack, breakfast at the Sportsmans Grill in Twainharte, dinner at Diamond Jim's in Mi Wuk or Pie in the Sky Pizza, or the Steam Donkey at Pinecrest Lake; ice skating in Long Barn...so much! Or just leisurely walks around the neighborhood enjoying the fresh mountain air. Do yourself a favor and reserve this cabin for your next vacation. Enjoy!

This was my second stay at this cabin, and the first for the other 7 ladies in my group. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean and orderly, just as it was the first time. There were plenty of towels, sheets, and blankets. It easily accommodated our group of 8. The deck is my favorite part of the cabin. It's spacious and surrounded by trees. The owners are very nice and communicative. They've been a joy to work with. I love this cabin. I've had two fantastic experiences! Highly recommended!

Three generations enjoying a long weekend. Cabin was clean and ready for our stay when we arrived. There was enough room for all with a bed for everyone. BBQ and cooking meals was great with the well-stocked kitchen. Location is great just far away to know you’re in the woods/mountains but stores and other amenities within minutes. Would stay again and have passed recommendations to friends for a great cabin.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. There was a total of 14 of us and there was plenty of room for us all. The cabin is clean and well equipped. Everything we needed was there. The private lake was so peaceful and relaxing. We made the easy drive up to Pinecrest Lake and did some fishing. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at this cabin with friends and family to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. It accommodated 10 adults and 6 children easily. The kids particularly like the loft with the 6 beds so that they could all sleep in the same room (more like stay up late whispering and giggling until they finally passed out). The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to store and prepare meals. It had plenty of plates, bowls, and cups for our lot. The deck was the perfect hang out spot for grown up time and I miss it already. The area is heavily wooded and gorgeous. The view far exceeded my expectations. The lake is a cozy little private lake perfect for groups that enjoy a little seclusion from the rest of the world. About the basics: the cabin was well kept, very clean and stocked with plenty of towels, everything was clearly marked, directions were very clear. The owners are absolutely lovely and very communicative. All of my questions were answered before ever having to ask. The perfect get away only an hour and a half from the central valley (CA). We can not wait to visit again!

Our family has made a tradition of summer weekend getaways, and this cabin may be the best we have yet found for our group. It is clean and well stocked, all of the appliances are up to date and work perfectly, and the beds are comfortable. Our seven grandchildren, ages 4 to 9, enjoyed the upstairs bedroom, with 6 twin beds, and they loved the downstairs play room, which made things nice for us adults who mostly hung out on the middle floor. The neighborhood was very quiet, and the only person I met outside was very friendly, pointing out the lake trail to us. The kids loved the lake! They all tried their hand at fishing for the bluegill, then walked down the next day for a swim. Sugar Pine is in a good location for family outings. This year we took the kids down to Columbia State Park where they tried gold panning. Some of tried some trout fishing at Lyons Reservoir, and some of us drove up to Pinecrest Lake. Monday came too soon!

When we arrived for our 2 night stay at "Sugarpine Cabin" we were blown away at how clean and well-kept this place was. This cabin really felt like home to us and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep very comfortably (6 adults, 1 child). The cabin has a nice and spacious floor plan that was great for our group and could easily accommodate much more. The game room was a nice bonus, as we had a few competitive foosball matches and I enjoyed escaping away and playing a few songs on the piano. The cable TV had a great selection of channels to watch, and the high speed WiFi was very fast and never had connection problems. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your wonderful cabin and we left it in the condition as we had so pleasantly arrived to. I want to thank the owner for opening your home to us and for all of your great communication which made our stay stress free and very enjoyable! We are already looking forward to our next trip to "Sugarpine Cabin" and we are already looking at some dates. Once again thank you Eric you and your lovely cabin are a class act!

Our large group of 16 (4 families) had a wonderful stay at Sugar Pine cabin in January. The cabin was big, neat and clean, and had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. It's in a great location - a quiet and peaceful neighborhood that is only a half-hour drive away from Dodge Ridge where we went skiing for a day. The foosball table in the downstairs room was fun for all the kids. The living room with the fireplace was a cozy place for everyone to hang out and talk. It even starting snowing overnight and the kids got to play outside in fresh fallen snow in the morning. The cabin owner was very easy to work with. He promptly returned all of my calls/emails, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The entire rental process went smoothly, the paperwork was detailed and organized, and my security deposit was also returned promptly after our stay. I would rent this location again in the future.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 1999

About the owner: We've been married since 1992 and are previous residents of San Jose and San Juan Bautista. We currently live in Foresthill, CA.

Why the Owner Chose Mi-Wuk Village:
We've visited the Sonora Pass area since childhood. We frequently rented cabins in the Mi Wuk and Twain Harte area until we bought our own. We hope you will love this place as much as we do.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This cabin is our second home. It is our only real estate investment outside the home we live in and it is not operated by a property management company. As such, we are constantly making improvements and have an interest in keeping the cabin in excellent condition. We hope that you will also find our place to be appealing and care for it as if it is your second home. This is a wonderful place for family reunions, a ski weekend getaway, or a place to spend a week in the summer time. If you are looking for a place to hold a frat party in, this is the wrong cabin.
