Our "tree-house" cottage is located in the Sparrow Pond area of Kiawah Island, 1013 Thrasher Ct. Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, you are within an eight minute walk from the beach, a three minute walk to the pool, and close to the new bike path to Freshfield Village. Beautifully renovated in 2004 and constantly updated since, our villa is fully-equipped to make your vacation an enjoyable experience. Only 3 minute walk to the pool and 7 minute walk to the beach (closer on a bike).
The master suite offers a King bed and a tub/whirlpool combination in the master bath, plus a walking closet and safe. The second suite has a Queen bed and a full bath. The third room has two twins and the fourth one displays a bunk bed, with a double size mattress in the bottom and a twin bed on the top. There is an extensive collection of children movies stored under this bed.
A Plasma TV is provided in the living room, a smaller TV in the master and another one in the fourth bedroom. The open kitchen has granite counter tops, new cabinets, and appliances. Its Peninsula opens to an extra sitting area surrounded by full height windows.The cottage also has a screened porch and a wrap-around deck with a gas grill. High speed Internet connection and wi-fi are available.

Year Purchased: 1994
We are Richard and Alina Bartlett, the owners of 1013 Sparrow Pond Cottage. Both of our children learned to ride bikes, roller blade, fishing and crabbing in Kiawah. Every summer we host our extended family from Florida and every Thanksgiving we share the good times with those from Canada. We wish every one of our guests lasting and unforgettable memories.
Why the Owner Chose Sparrow Pond Cottages
During our 10th wedding anniversary we visited Kiawah, a Real Estate Agent and the rest is history. We chose this Barrier Island because of its natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere, miles of bike paths, and shallow safe beach, a must with small children.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
1013 Sparrow Pond is located in the area we like to call “historic Kiawah” or the West End of the island. It is close to the Main Gate and easy access to Freshfields Village. We are a few minutes’ walk to both the neighborhood pool and the beach. A short bike ride on the beach will take you to the West End of the island where the river meets the sea and where you can experience haunting sunsets and plenty of marine life. The tidal pools are great fun for the young ones. We are also a short walking distance from the Cougar Point Golf Course and the West End Tennis Center.

Fabulous accommodation, in superb location, just a couple of minutes to pool and beach. I would recommend this cottage without reservation. It is in exceptional condition, and fitted throughout with all you could need. Many thanks to the owners.

I have stayed in this property several times in the last few years. The owner's description gives an accurate idea of this property, although the pictures do not convey how big the living room/kitchen/dinning room area really is. This property is quite spacious and the master suite in particular is very cozy.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a lovely time and found your cottage very comfortable and had everything we needed. The extra queen bedroom was perfect for my mom as she was able to wheel her walker right into the huge shower. We loved the beach and rented bikes and the boys enjoyed the freedom. We saw lots of birds, alligators and even a deer. The kitchen was wonderful and very easy to work in. Much to my husband and my disappointment – our 3 sons loved all the TV channels! It did come in handy on our one very rainy day. We ate the Fat Hen and Rosebank farms Restaurant – great food! We found the Fresh Fields very easy to get to and the grocery there was great. My husband and I and one son walked all the way to the far western tip of the beach where there is an estuary – we saw a dolphin and the seclusion was awesome! Thank you for a wonderful time!!!

Dear Mrs. Bartlett, We wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our stay in your "cottage". Your home is much too nice to call a cottage. We have been visiting Kiawah for over 20 years and have always preferred Sparrow Pond. We began coming to Kiawah when our son was in high school and now are accompanied by his wife, three children and sister-in-law. The fourth bedroom was a blessing. The children kept their toys out of the way and enjoyed having their own space. We adults thoroughly enjoyed that also. We hope to be able to stay in your villa again next summer. richard & alina thank you for sharing your home my family. what a wonderful place. it was beautiful throughout. close enough to the beach & pool. the biking on the trails or the beach was wonderful. your suggestion of GILLIGANS RESTAURANT was very good, we have one for future guests CHEZ FISH its close to kiawah, not much on the outside but inside is clean and the food was fabulous!!! thanks again for a wonderful vacation home. the grubbs family

Alina, we had the BEST time at your house!!!!!! the house is beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. we had great weather and enjoyed the beach and the pool . rode our bikes and explored the beach at night so the kids could have courage to be out at night. the boys(3) stayed in their room playing play while they were in the house. the 18 mo old loved the shower and played in it, and thought the tub was pretty fun with the jets going. WHAT FUN!!!! anyway back to reality and cutting some hair. thanks again, Deb
