"Our family enjoyed a wonderful vacation at the Villa Torres beach house in August 2015. The house is quite lovely and spacious and everything was just as stated in the website description and reviews. Laurel was as helpful as could be with information, advice, and help. There was even a thoughtful welcome gift of cans of soda and beer in the refrigerator! The house is well maintained and serviced every couple days by maids, a gardener (Carlos), and pool service. Carlos provided tasty samples of the local Quenepas that he picked from the property and even prepared a fresh coconut for us. The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning worked like a charm. We bought groceries at Mega (downtown San Miguel) for roughly half our meals and dined out the other nights. The Money Bar is within walking distance and the food was terrific plus they offer a 2 for 1 happy hour each night between 5 and 7pm. The star gazing from the roof is spectacular on clear nights. You will also enjoy seeing the resident iguana that lives under the front step. He is often found sunning in the driveway.
The snorkeling from the ocean across the street was wonderful and super convenient. The pool and surrounding patio was relaxing and provide the perfect amount of cover from the road. We did some day visits to several of the beach clubs (Paradise Beach, Mr. Sanchos, Playa Palancar), which were all quite nice and enjoyed the huge Margaritas at Wet Wendy’s in San Miguel before having a tasty dinner at Kinta (suggest reservations). Thanks for the terrific vacation and we hope to return soon."

"If you don't want the noise and crowds of the tourist area this is a great alternative. The Casita is clean, well kept and comfortable. The kitchen was adequate for making meals, full sized fridge, four burner gas cooker, just what was needed. The outside sitting area was comfortable, we ate a few meals outside. Internet access was very good considering we were so far out of the main area, we never had a problem checking our email etc.
You are close to Akumal, and a few other beaches , Puerto Aventuras has some great restaurants if you decide you don't want to cook. A grocery store is close by, the colonia of Puerto Aventuras has some great places to get BBQ chicken, so you have the best of everything close by.
The only negative is that there is no housekeeping offered, so if you stay more then a couple days (we were there almost 2 weeks) you need to supply your own cleaning products, toilet paper, garbage bags and dispose of your garbage somewhere off the property as there is no facilities for garbage disposal on the property.
All and all a great place,"

"We stayed at the Caribbean Reef Villa for two weeks. I would say it is close to perfect. The pool is amazing. The property is right on the beach. Nice and quiet. Only about 20 units. The staff do well maintaining the grounds. Our room was cleaned three times during our stay. Our one bedroom unit was larger than I thought it was going to be and the layout (murphy bed in the living room, two full bathrooms) would allow for having guests stay with you The only downside is the location. It is a bit less than a mile south of town but you cannot walk the beach into town. you either walk the road or walk by the perimeter of the shipping yard. We typically walked into town but took a taxi back (50 pesos). A location North of town would be better but the property itself is great."

"We have stayed for a month in this comfortable Condo the previous 2 years and are booked in for another month in March of next year. The security personnel are friendly and helpful when you need a hand. The condo is clean and well equipped with appliances, tv, internet and more. Location is perfect as there is a Mega store a block away, fish markets, vegetable markets, restaurants and laundry services within 3 blocks. The condo is equipped with a new washer and dryer and the balcony is a great place to relax. This 2nd level condo is quiet and the pool is refreshing and well maintained. Most of the residents in the condo complex have been coming back for several years and usually stay for 3-6 months. The beach and Mamitas Beach Bar is a leisurely 5-7 minute walk. 5th Ave is 4 blocks away and the street that the condo is on is quiet and not subject to a lot of traffic. The property manager is very helpful should you need any information on Playa or any concerns with the condo. The condo owners are very friendly and decorate the condo with beautiful paintings, pictures and ornaments. We have stayed at other places in Playa and this condo is the best."
