Amazing cabin and excellent fishing!
"I was in charge of organizing a senior class reunion getaway (ages 25-28). I ultimately chose this cabin because of the affordability (right before prime summer time), location (on the lake) and what sold me the most was the pontoon option! When I arrived the owner personally greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and its features including the pontoon (which I had not driven one before). When the rest of my 10 other friends arrived they were simply amazed at what the cabin had to offer and could not stop thanking me for finding such a great place! Sleeping situations were great and worked out great for all of us even though most of us were couples. We took advantage of everything the house had to offer: Washer/dryer, board games, jacuzzi, full kitchen, newly built fire pit, outdoor gas grill, and especially the pontoon.
Now for the best part. I am REALLY in fishing, so I feel this needs its own paragraph. The fishing here is simply AMAZING! Honestly, they should rename this lake to "Pike Lake" if it wasn't already taken. Just I, myself caught over 25 pikes within two days! In total I believe we caught over 100 pikes over the weekend PLUS other types, it was just insane. Even on the 2nd when it drizzled rain we still managed to still catch them. I've never caught that many pikes in my life! They were biting almost any lure we used, plastic worms, spinners baits, and especially crank baits, that is a must have! We were also able to catch other types of fish too (largemouth bass, crappies, bluegills). The highlight of the fishing trip was when my friend hooked on a huge 40"+ muskie, but we couldn't net it in time before the fish shook the hook loose, so there are definitely monster fish here). All this was only possible because we had the pontoon rental. So I'd definitely recommend or require you to also get the pontoon if you want to do some fishing. We couldn't catch anything from the dock as the water was still so shallow there (~4 ft). The lake itself is not so deep either. I believe even sitting at the middle of the lake it was only 13ft so it makes for perfect depth for crank baits.
All in all this cabin was amazing. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway and/or who wants to do some serious fishing. I will keep this cabin in mind for future group trips. You will not be disappointed!"

"We have been coming to this resort for over twenty years and always find the cabin well-appointed and exceptionally clean. The owners are gracious and available when necessary. A notebook of resort and area information is provided, as well as a personal note of welcome.
The cabin features an open concept with the kitchen and living room. There is a wood-burning fireplace and a recliner adds to the comfort. Ceiling fans provide circulating air during warm weather. A Weber Grill is furnished and grilling is fun on the deck overlooking Otter Lake.
A pontoon boat is available for rental and my family has spent many wonderful hours cruising the chain of lakes or dropping anchor for a picnic lunch aboard.
The resort's close proximity to town makes for convenient grocery and souvenier shopping as there are many fine restaurants and shops in the area."

"Four generations of our family spent a week relaxing at this beautiful home. There were nine of us ranging in age from 8 months to 86 years old. We also had one dog with us. There was plenty of room for everyone. We found the home to be very clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was very large with lots of counter space for preparing food. The view from the deck was beautiful. We spent a lot of time relaxing on it. The grounds were also very nicely set up. We enjoyed the lawn chairs, the bench, and the fire pit. We took advantage of the canoe, the row boat, and the kayak. The fishing was not real good, but it was mid August and in all honesty we did not work real hard at it. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time and we will definitely consider renting the home again in the future."

"Serene Shores is a wonderful Northwoods retreat. We loved it! The location was optimal for us. We also loved the seclusion--plenty of privacy and the lot is very nice. We especially loved the fire pit and the dock, and the fact that we were able to bring our beloved dog with us.
The cottage itself is very comfortable and homey! We felt at home immediately. Serene Shores proved to be the perfect "home base" for our Northwoods excursion.
Another plus to staying at Serene Shores is the friendliness, professionalism and customer service orientation of the property manager, who is a pleasure to work with and very responsive to questions and inquiries.
Our stay was a very positive experience and we plan on staying there again."
