  • Comfortable Stay, Beautiful Beach!

"I've visited this cabin a few times when a friend had rented it, so it was destiny to find it open over labor day weekend to share with our extended family. Though the weather was not great, we made the best of it. The owners tend to let the kids play on or use their non-motorized water toys, our family brought up fishing and ski boats to take advantage of the lake. The beach is gorgeous and has an awesome fire pit. There is a nice billiards area which is great for groups to break up or teenagers as little ones are going down to bed. The weekend went just too fast! This place books out years in advance so if you find an open weekend or week, jump fast, you won't be disappointing! I'm not sure how you would fit 20 ppl as we were quite full with 16 which included a queen air mattress, not to mention keeping your food cold if you were to stay a week! But there is lots of floor space in various areas and a small fridge and freezer in the garage."

  • One Awesome Home!

"Our family has been renting homes in the Hayward area for six straight years. Each year we attempt to find the "perfect home" and this year we accomplished our goal. Our group of 12 was able to bond for the week with room to get away when the bonding limit was reached. The home is beautifully decorated in a way that made you feel as though you could sink into every chair and take a nap. Everyone agreed that the beds were comfortable. The kitchen and eating area was large enough for family dinners. We had movie nights in the lower level and many intense games of pool. The boys used the tv in lower level for x-box which make them "feel at home". Music can be played throughout the home. The steps to the water are easy to navigate. We took many morning dips in the water right off of the dock. We rented our pontoon from Trails End Resort which is a short boat ride away. John (the owner) was more than pleasant and professional. We've already booked our return trip next year!"

  • Private, quiet, wooded, on a lake log cabin

"We enjoyed our vacation here as dogs were allowed. We all had fun boating. It was too cool for swimming but there is a nice beach. The descriptions and the photos in the listing are accurate. The property was clean, and the owners easy to contact. We did find the slope of the hill going to the lake somewhat difficult if you have any problems walking. We would definitely recommend it as long as you can be without television! We love nature and being outside but did miss having television for news and sports at night."

  • A large house for multiple families with plenty of elbow room, fun and water

"This is the perfect home for a gathering of multiple families (technically we had 8 different units), or one very large one! There is plenty of space for children to play, adults to read, or to walk down to the lake and enjoy the beach. The kitchen is well stocked and was a pleasure to cook meals and clean up in. All the amenities were very nice and thoughtfully planned. The house is very well cared for and is beautifully decorated. It was a 6+ mile ride via bikes into town which we tended to do in the morning and then come back in the afternoon and spend time at the lake. There was plenty to do in LaPointe for those who wanted to venture into town such as the Museum, local stores, or check out the community calendar for events. To wake up every morning and have a spectacular view and nice cup of coffee on the porch made it hard to leave. Or was it the evening sunset? Or the afternoon playing in the sand and jumping off the dock? The owner did a great job communicating/answering questions, and even sent us a list of things to do while on the island. We had always visited MI in the past for a day, but we were absolutely delighted with our experience staying for seven. Yes, you want to stay here."
