Relax on your expansive covered deck and savor the spectacular panoramic views of Coral Bay, East End, British Virgin Islands, and beyond at Suite Papaya. Beautifully renovated in 2016 this perfectly scaled studio offers full Caribbean comfort with all of the benefits of a large villa estate.
Suite Papaya is a well appointed studio apartment located on a shared outdoor estate overlooking Coral Bay area of St. John. Just a few minutes drive to either the town of Coral Bay (shopping/dining) or several beautiful national park beaches and trails and 10 minutes from St. John’s world renown North Shore beaches, Suite Papaya is an ideal spot for couples or the solo St. John adventurer!… And if you need a second room, Suite Papaya and its sister studio called A Place in the Sun are both available and located on the beautiful Papaya Moon Villa Estate.
Both studio apartments are located on the lower level of the main house, and just above a beautifully landscaped hillside and large pool deck. While the two units share the same level, they each have their own well appointed kitchenette, dining table, sitting area, TV, and beautiful bathroom. Each kitchenette has a two burner electric top stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. The units share over 1000 square feet of exterior decks space with stunning views over Coral Bay and BVI, outdoor grill, hot tub garden, and large pool deck. Each of these outdoor amenities provide plenty of areas around the estate to lounge alone or in a group.
The two units are unique in character, floor plan, decor, bed type(s), A/C and primary view.
Suite Papaya sleeps two comfortably with an option to add one more guest; it features a King bed, pullout sofa, platform daybed mini-room, A/C, and faces both south and west, capturing stunning sunsets.
The two studios together make the perfect couples retreat who desire a little privacy and may enjoy plenty of outdoor shared space. Renting both studios together will qualify for a special pricing. please inquire.

Enjoy your days with hiking and snorkeling the many national park trails and reefs, boating or exploring some of the many colonial ruins, take in a morning yoga class at nearby “Pickels” (or arrange for a class at ‘home’ ) or, simply lie by the pool!

We had an incredible stay with Ron and Sue. Their hospitality was outstanding, treating us like family from the moment we arrived. The suite was perfect for our one-week stay, with beautiful views and everything we needed. The property is impeccable, filled with abundant fruit trees and flowers. Would highly recommend staying with them.

Great location and views

We usually stay in Cruz Bay so this was our first stay in Coral Bay. We picked the right house for us as it was perfect for two people and as nice as advertised. The location was perfect as it was a short drive to the North shore beaches without going into Cruz Bay. We were able to explore the other side of the island and loved the quieter beaches. The house had a great deck with amazing views of Coral Bay.

Paradise vacation

A beautiful house with all the amenities for a wonderful vacation, including a pool and a hot tub with amazing views. The house is located in a beautiful and peaceful area with great beaches and trails nearbay. It is a wonderful place we would highly recommend to all our friends and will dream of coming back to. I would also like to add that our hosts, Ron and Sue, were very warm and hospitable snd always willing to share their knowledge about SJ and give advice.

Ron and Sue are such warm and affable hosts, they alone are reason to come, but they have beautiful suites with beautiful views that certainly are a draw as well. They've thought of everything their guests might need from snacks for the beach, to beach towels to well equipped kitchens. And, they've thought of what just makes for a pleasant stay-- flowers in the window, hummingbird feeder to be viewed from the bed of the Papaya Suite. Their home and gardens are beautiful; we felt honored to share it.

Sue and Ron had great recommendations and knowledge of the island. The house was perfect for my wife and I to spend a week relaxing. The views were spectacular. Island Paradise

Best View on Island

The views are way better than pictured! Ron & Sue are amazing, so helpful & friendly. We enjoyed seeing Thelma (sweetest dog ever). The breeze is wonderful. We felt comfortable the whole time. Never needed the air conditioner. If you are looking for a heavenly oasis this is your place! 💜 The location is awesome. We were close enough to north, east & south shore beaches. The property is so beautiful! You will not want to leave each day. We saw gorgeous sunrises, and sunsets. This place is so peaceful. Lots of gorgeous plants and trees, humming birds and flowers. They have the best books available for you to browse about St. John’s as well. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us.

Outstanding! Best VRBO ever!

Ron and Sue are superb, gracious hosts who have thought of EVERYTHING in their rental property. The location is perfect, quiet, breathtaking views yet close to restaurants and a grocery store. The rental unit was extremely clean and had everything you could possibly want - beach bags and chairs, coolers, bath robes, toiletries, even a sewing kit! The bed was very comfortable. We never needed to use the A/C since cross breezes were blowing all week. The outdoor spaces are comfortable and relaxing, with beautiful landscaping. The pictures do not do it justice. We have stayed in many VRBOs and AirBnBs and this was the best by far. Ron and Sue told us about great places to eat, hike, swim and snorkel that we likely would not have found on our own. Ron and Sue's place made our first trip to St. John very special, and we hope to return and stay with them again.

Beautiful Views on the Quiet Side

The views are hands down insane! You won’t find those kind of views anywhere else on the island. Make sure to wake up early to catch the sunrise. The mattress was hard and I believe does need to be replaced along with a couple pillows and the comforter was scratchy. There was no soap in the bathroom pump. We wanted to spend time down by the pool but there was no umbrella for shade. Small things but little things make a difference especially a good bed when you’re there all week. We didn’t make it to the hot tub because it was just too warm. Wish we could’ve thought the views would’ve been amazing to sit there with a cocktail. There were multiple rooms to stay so it would be perfect for multiple families. Sit out on the back deck with a good book and you’ll be in heaven all day!

Hello, My name is Holly and my husbands name is Jason. We recently stayed in this condo oct 5-12 in 2019. THE VIEW - JUST WOW!!!! Words cant describe how beautiful the view was. The pool was very clean and the room was so cute with the decor and we loved the view from the shower window. Every inch of the place had an amazing view of the whole island. We saw goats and donkeys riding up the road to the house almost every day. The house is very close to all the beaches within 10-15 min drive to all the beaches and about 10 min drive to most restaurants then about 25 min drive to town to cruz bay. We had such a great time and it was so romantic and relaxing! We had the whole place to ourselves and it was so amazing to get away just me and my husband. The room had provided: coolers and beach chairs and beach bags and all the things we needed for the beaches. The grocery store was only like 10 min away which was a plus. I will be back for sure! This was such a great place! I can not say one thing bad about this place. The owners even texted me while we were there to make sure we were happy and everything was going good. It was an AMAZING TRIP!!!!

Unforgettable Week in St. John.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a week in St. John. The property was absolutely perfect with amazing views, a convenient and relaxing location and ideal hosts who enhanced our stay with their kindness and willingness to share their love of the island. Best Romantic Getaway

This property was perfect for a weeklong getaway. It’s quiet and the views were absolutely breathtaking. We had everything we needed and picked up whatever we were missing from the small market/store located a few minutes away. Even though it was our first trip to St. John’s, we quickly figured out how to get around. It was pretty easy (25 minutes or less) to get to several beaches and downtown for meals. If you chose to stay in, there’s still so much to do. We enjoyed the views, took lots of pictures and lounged around the pool. It was pretty much the perfect vacation spot and we’d highly recommend it.

July on the Island

Just returned from an amazing week on the island. Mesmerizing views and great location for traveling to the different beaches. Ron and Sue made sure everything was ready for arrival and were quick to respond to any questions. We loved the quiet, meals on the decks, and late afternoon swims in the pool. We especially appreciated the care they put into their landscaping, composting, and creating a tropical home.

Amazing views!

My mom and I loved our stay in Suite Papaya. Each morning we enjoyed coffee on the huge porch overlooking Coral Bay! Everything was very clean, and the check in process was easy and simple. Ron and Sue (and Thelma) are lovely hosts and provided great tips on the local restaurants and beaches!

First time in St John

We had a FANTASTIC time at Papayamoon and will be recommending it to friends as well! I hope to come back to enjoy it again. Our hosts were very amenable and gave us lots of interesting helps and information. Only wish we could have extended our stay! We had amazing views, saw all sorts of wildlife and the beaches were great! Of the two places we stayed while on this trip - this one was far-superior. Loved it! Highly recommend.

Suite Papaya is a 5 star property all the way

My wife and I stayed a Suite Papaya for eight nights and enjoyed every minute. The property has a great location and is very secluded high on the mountain side. The huge covered porches was our favorite part with outstanding views and very comfortable breezes, even in August. We did not get to meet Ron and Sue but it is clear that they take great pride in their property. Would consider staying at Suite Papaya any time we are in St John

Property was like new condition.

Every detail on the property was meticulously crafted and well thought out. I enjoyed spending time on the huge deck taking in the island views and relaxing. Super private location with visiting deer every morning. No neighbors, no noise, no problems.

Coral Bay Bliss

The official greeter of the Papaya Suite is Thelma the dog, who welcomes you to the island and only charges in belly rubs. Ron and Sue were wonderful hosts who gave us the inside scoop on all the great local spots to enjoy the beauty of Coral Bay on the east side of the island. The Papaya Suite was perfect, waking up to sun cascading into the windows each morning. The place was immaculate, updated, and the views were stunning from the spacious back deck. All the extras, cooler, towels, even snorkel gear were shared with us which was great as we did not have to pack those additional items. With a pool, hot tub, and fantastic views you could easily be content just staying in, if it were not for the gorgeous beaches beckoning you. Papaya Suite felt like home and the only bad part was having to leave. We will definitely only want to stay here in our future visits to St. John.

St John Awesomeness

We absolutely loved Suite Papaya and St John!! Suite Papaya is ADORABLE and in a perfect location with truly beautiful views of the sunrise, rainbows (double) and Coral Bay. We had all we needed to relax and enjoy and the location made every beach, hike and Cruz Bay very accessible. We loved being able to hop in the pool after a day snorkeling and hiking to cool off. Sue and Ron are incredible hosts. They were generous with their time and recommendations. Coral Bay is on the quiet side of the island but Ron and Sue gave us the inside scoop on restaurants, live music, local artist and the best beaches - so we filled our days and nights with pure St John awesomeness. Our only regret is not being able to spend more time there. We miss you Thelma!

Sue & Ron Owners of Papaya Moon Villa. We came to St John in February 1989 to celebrate our Birthdays. Sue immediately fell in love with it and we decided to move there and try it for one year. We did not want to say "We wish We would have". It took almost 2 years to find Papaya Moon.

Why they chose this property

This was our home for 13 years until we moved back to the states to take care of our aging parents. We loved the fact that it was so secluded and still is and we thing we have one of the best views on island.

What makes this property unique

Papaya Moon is centrally located on island so we are close to our favorite beaches on the North as well as the South shore. The pool and Hot Tub are what make it nice for additional enjoyment and/or relaxation when not at a beach.
