About Raymond or Sherry Hoem
We are local small farmers raising sheep and crops. Mr. Hoem is a retired wildlife biologist and has worked over much of the United States and some foreign countries. Mrs. Hoem is a full time housewife, farm wife, artist, fiber guru and all around country girl, albeit from the big city.
Raymond or Sherry Hoem purchased this Cabin in 1994
Why Raymond or Sherry Hoem chose Buhl
It is quiet, removed from the hustle and bustle of most people's lives and a place to relax and enjoy farm life and animals.
What makes this Cabin unique

Amazing pastoral coziness!!!
What a treasure to find on our trip to Buhl Idaho! This small cozy, warm, quaint, quiet, clean, peaceful cabin was perfect! The hosts were friendly and accommodating; a joy to chat with. The farm cabin was a nice diversion from your run of the mill motels. Complete with sheep, turkeys, chickens, cats, dogs and more to watch and pet. For us it was a wonderful place to unwind from our stressful days and start the next day well rested. If you stay in the colder months guaranteed you will stay warm. We will most certainly hope to stay here again when we return to the area. Thank you Raymond and Sherry for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!!!
Thanks for staying with us during this time of great stress in your lives. We hope all works out well for you and hope to see you again one day.

A Welcome Respite
Absolutely loved the cabin! It reminded me of the times I spent at my grandparent's cabin as a child. Sooo, my opinion may be slightly skewed!!
My time was relaxing and very enjoyable. The kitchen had everything needed to make decent meals (you need to bring your food!). I didn't use the WIFI. I brought a portable radio and enjoyed the local stations while I read, or played my sudoku in the evening.
The cabin was sufficiently heated. The bedroom has its own electric heater which allows for warmth when it is cold outside. That heater is very quiet as it operates. After the 1st night, I was used to its operating sound (I'm a light sleeper) and was able to sleep uninterrupted. There is a pellet stove (electrically controlled) in the living room that keeps the main cabin cozy. A wall heater in the bathroom quickly and efficiently warmed the room for the early morning shower. There is also a ceiling fan in the bathroom. That fan is very efficient at removing the shower steam ... and other fumes!!
I really enjoyed the farm atmosphere. Chickens and roosters and turkeys and sheep. A working farm where the animals are raised humanely, as it should be!
From the cabin location, it is just a quick jaunt to the nearby town of Buhl, or a 20 minute or so drive to Twin Falls.
Ray and Sherry are wonderful people, and were excellent hosts. They provided a fresh fruit bowl, with the encouragement to eat as much as I wanted, and individually wrapped bagels and cinnamon rolls in the fridge (no restrictions!). There was also a variety of condiments, beverages, canned foods, etc. that other tenants had left that were available for my use as desired. In addition, I was honored to join them in an activity or two about the town as I was learning about the region.
The downside? I enjoy hands-on activities. I would have liked to help with the daily (animal) chores. While I hinted, I never asked! But I can readily see why that wouldn't be a good idea: (1) I would have definitely slowed down the completion of the chores, since I would be a 'newby' at that. (2) Today's litigious society suggests that the liability is too great to allow my assistance should anything go wrong. Too bad!
I would definitely stay at the cabin in the future should the opportunity present itself!
Welcoming, friendly, family feeling
Warm friendly feeling from check in to check out. Loved the farm setting ~ Ray and Sherry greeted us upon arrival they are the nices people felt like we were old friends right from the get go. Would definitely stay again. The hoemsted was clean and cozy and better than we expected we stayed 2 weeks as we have family in Buhl we were visiting.. but it also gave us a chance to get to know Ray and Sherry great people!
Farmer and avid hunter
Was perfect small little cabin and every thing I needed
Wake up in the morning to roosters and turkeys loved it and the surrounding area was dairy farms and beef with center pivots every where a pleasure to view
The sheep where great all in the pasture around the farm.
Ray and Sherri where as hospitable as country people can get THANK YOU
Thanks for coming to the Hoemstead. We hope, one of these days, that you will return for another visit to Idaho country and, who knows, we might stop in as we get about the US.
Have a good rest of your trip and take care.

Peaceful, cozy cabin - just right for us!
Stayed here two nights over anniversary/family visit weekend. Cozy, rustic farm cabin - not sleek and modern in any respect (which is fitting for its location and we like that). Ray and Sherry are wonderful hosts! The working farm is an added bonus for us. We happened to book our stay just after spring lambing - so there were dozens of baby lambs frolicking about. We enjoyed helping our hosts feed a few of them our first morning. Loved our dinner at Elevation 486 in Twin Falls. And Miracle Hot Springs! Would come back here without hesitation!
Overall 5 star experience
We stayed at the property while visiting family in the area for a week at Christmas time. Ray and Sherry were exceptional hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome without being overbearing. The cabin was clean and the pellet stove was an added bonus on the blustery winter nights. The kitchen had plenty of dishes as well as a coffee pot and continental breakfast items. If you're coming to the area we would definitely recommend Ray and Sherry's place as they are wonderful hosts and you can't beat the price!
