Located in the coveted North Shore community of Dollar Point, on a sunny street close to the shore of Lake Tahoe, is this charming three bedroom home ready to be your Base Camp during an unforgettable stay in the Sierras!

During the summer, we have a feeling you'll be spending much of your time relaxing on the large, sunny deck, cooking dinner on the Weber grill and dining outdoors, or soaking in the hot tub under the stars.

This vacation home has an indoor space that is welcoming and comfortable for groups of all sizes. Floor to ceiling windows allow light to fill the main living area, and ample seating centers around a brand new flat screen television and real wood fireplace. You'll find two guest bedrooms on this floor as well as a full bath. Upstairs, the Primary suite sits on its own private floor, with a queen bed and ensuite bath.

Amazing stay! You can tell when your property is being managed by a professional property management group. Excellent communication. We were afraid of the windows and the heat, but we found that opening the windows and turning on the fans kept the property at a really pleasant temperature all day long. And we've been visiting Dollar Point for years - incredible location! Thanks!

Worst Experience Ever

I don't expect my review to be published as I'm sure Tahoe Guest Services scrubs the ones they don't like... however, don't rent from this company. The unit we rented was not as advertised and I'll be contacting the HOA within Dollar Point to give full details as well as the better business bureau. The unit had missing window screens, a backed up sink, dirty dishes, broken pans, a broken lock to a patio door, windows that did have a screen required one to prop them open with a wooden spoon in order to stay open, the dishwasher was missing wheels to roll out the trays, the carpet was stained and filthy, cutting boards were stored on the floor of the kitchen, and the hot tub was dirty. I would spend more time giving a review but again, I'm sure it won't be published. Save your money because they won't refund a penny to you. Rent from any other place other than this company and definitely not this disgusting "basecamp" in Dollar Point.

Could have been better, avoid the hot months

We had a few major issues with this place: 1. Overall Cleanliness. There were cobwebs in many reachable places with tons of caught bugs and happy spiders. We cleaned up most of them on our day of arrival, but they should have been cleaned well in advance of our stay. The patio was covered in pollen, which we had to wash away. We had to mop our kitchen floors because they were dirty. The carpet had visible stains. We vacuumed after a few days and pulled up more dust than I'd expect if it were recently cleaned. Outside around and below the deck was some garbage, including a cigarette butt. 2. Overall upkeep of furnishings and amenities. Material on one of the dining room chairs was visibly tattered and falling off the bottom. One of the recliners had a missing foam insulation in one of the arms (not visible in the posting photos). The carpet was bunching in places. The dish washer had a missing button, missing wheels on the bottom rack, and the door would dangerously fall on its own if not completely closed. There was a large crack in the bottom bedroom with two beds, partly covered by a picture. In the same room, there is visible water damage below the window, which also happens to be at the head of the single bed. The queen bed in the bottom bedroom with two beds sags in the middle and was very uncomfortable for my wife and I. 3. Ventilation. We stayed for a week at the beginning of August with temperatures in the 80s and the house got unbearably hot during the day. We opened all the windows and doors and turned on all the fans they provided and still couldn't cool the house. Luckily the air quality was "good" enough (100-150 AQI) with the nearby fires that we spent most of our time at the Lake, but if the air quality was worse, I'm not sure what we would have done, but staying inside with the windows shut would have been a none starter. 4. No HOA amenities. For the $$$$ we paid for 7 days, we should have had access to at least the beach, if not the pool. No clear indication that the cost was reduced for previously provided amenities at Dollar Point. 5. Slow Wifi. My wife and I both had to take video calls and encountered many issues trying to maintain a connection. Only one person could be on, and we had to disconnect all other devices. On the positive side, the place has an open layout and good location. The hot tub is great, and the bathrooms are nice. It just needs some TLC and $15-20k of improvements.

Had we known about the state of cleanliness in the house when you arrived, we would have been sure to remedy the situation by sending the housekeepers back to re-due the clean. We have a high standard and it is clear that it was not met in this case. For that, we truly apologize. Regarding the state of the furnishings, we really appreciate the detailed feedback and will be sharing them with the homeowner so that they can make the necessary updates to the property in the off-season. We too are bummed that the Dollar Point Association no longer allows renters to access member-only amenities. However, this was ultimately their decision. Unfortunately, slow wifi is also not something we can control. It is very common in the mountains as resources are more scarce and there is typically only one company to choose from. We encourage you to seek out a Tahoe Donner or Tahoe Park home in the future as you will be able to utilize HOA amenities. Thank you for your detailed feedback and we hope we can make it right next time!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental is in need of some repairs and upgrades to the furniture. We never were able to use the hot tub due to a combination lock placed on it. During the afternoon the heat in the rental was unbearable even with all the fans running. Of course, it didn't help that most of the windows couldn't be opened. Overall, we were disappointed for the price we paid.

To provide some clarity, all of the hot tubs at the home's we rent out are locked for security and cleanliness but a padlock code is provided to our guests in a number of places including signage at the home and on the check-in instructions. We apologize still if that was missed. For future stays with us, please know that we have staff both in the office and out in the field 7 days a week to assist with any questions or items that may arise. We enjoy being able to make each guest's stay comfortable and enjoyable and hope future renters will utilize us if anything seems amiss.

Reviewer Comments: Our group of 6 had the best time in Tahoe -- we came on Memorial Day weekend when it wasn't cold enough to ski and not quite warm enough to be at the pool or lake, but we still had the absolute best time relaxing in the mountains. It's definitely in a quiet residential neighborhood, but we were still able to enjoy ourselves without any complaints (we weren't very rowdy). The house was well kept, comfortable, and clean. It was super easy to communicate with the Tahoe Getaways team and they even called me on the day of our arrival to let us know the home was ready earlier than expected and we could come sooner. We enjoyed the hot tub and loved grilling out on the patio! The only downside was that the fridge and freezer didn't seem to stay very cold so some of our food spoiled. But other than that, it was the perfect weekend! I worked with Nicole from Tahoe Getaways, and she was a pleasure to communicate with.

Very quiet neighborhood. Beach access was cool. Very family friendly, not so much for crowd over 21.Even a little noise seems like a lot of noise here. Our experience here was amazing, so much fun with friends. Only negative thing was no AC an we didn't know that till we got there. Would've been nice to know that considering it was in the 90's the entire time. Fans just push around hot air. Was okay at night but still hot.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. This is great feedback for future renters. The vast majority of homes in Tahoe do not have air conditioning. Opening up the home at night and closing it during the day will definitely help keep things cool, as the temperatures fall to the 40's in the evenings.

First time leaving bad review after 20 plus years in Tahoe.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pictures of this rental are deceiving as the house was in rough shape. The carpets and bed sheets were badly stained. I washed the sheets and got some of the stains out but had to buy stain remover. Lot of cobwebs on every window and paper black shades cover the view. Ants everywhere. There were five or six traps all along the downstairs, but that didn't help and just made the place look even worse. When you are paying for a nice vacation and leave one day early, that is a problem. Screens are ducktaped. Owners need to invest some money in this property before renting it out. Cleaners need help. We were disappointed for the first time after going to Tahoe for much of our lives.
