This Scandinavian-inspired cabin, nestled in a quiet spot on Misty Mountain, is just minutes away from spectacular mountain trails and scenery, skiing, golfing, and Blowing Rock’s quaint shops and restaurants.

The Dala House is newly renovated, beautifully decorated, and generously stocked with top-of-the-line amenities to ensure your comfort and convenience. We welcome you to our family’s “peaceful place,” with the goal that you leave the Great Smoky Mountains smiling and fulfilled.

AMENITIES:
• Sleeping space for 7 guests
• Master Suite: Spacious downstairs suite features a King mattress by Thread & Needle, organic sheets, sitting area and TV. Adjoining bath invites relaxation with soaking tub, shower for two, hairdryer, herbal hair products and handmade soaps.
• Two upstairs bedrooms, one with a Queen mattress and one with a Twin-over-Full bunk bed. Both rooms feature top quality mattresses and organic sheets.
• Upstairs couch converts to a comfortable Full Bed with organic sheets.
• Upstairs guests share a well-appointed full bath with tub/shower, hairdryer, herbal hair products and handmade soaps.
• Spacious living room with vaulted exposed beams, stone fireplace, woven rugs and refined rustic décor blended with modern comfort and convenience.
• Entertainment room features cozy sectional sofa, 52-inch TV, DVD player, huge DVD collection and plenty of games. Cable and Wi-Fi included.
• Chef’s kitchen provides all you need to create a delicious meal, with top-of-the-line goods as well as staples including olive oil, spices and baking essentials. Gather around the reclaimed heart of pine dining table or dine outdoors on the spacious deck.
• Kid-friendly: We have small children and recognize the challenges of traveling with little ones. To make your trip as stress-free as possible, The Dala House supplies a Pack n’ Play, high chair, bath ring seat, hiking backpack, children’s dishes, lots of toys, and kids’ DVDs.
• Privacy and Proximity: Surrounded by almost an acre of wooded land on beautiful Misty Mountain, The Dala House is directly off Highway 221, just one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Blowing Rock is a short four miles away.

A beautiful cabin!

We loved our stay here. Very convenient to Blowing Rock and the cabin was wonderful! So many little touches that made it feel more like home. Our kids loved the bunk beds and provided games. Stephanie was easy to reach out to and quick to respond! We will definitely come back

Great Four Day Weekend

This is an amazing property, perfect for a quick getaway with your spouse or the kids. It’s beautifully decorated, stocked with everything you need and close to all major attractions you of the area. Hope I get the opportunity to stay here again.

Wonderful mountain getaway!

Stephanie is a great host! Very easy accesible and attentive! Their home is gorgeous and very thoughtfully decorated. They take a lot of pride and care in this space. It is close to town and you still feel miles away from civilization. The working fireplace and the gorgeous views were very memorable! We highly recommend their home/)

Home away from home

More than expected!!

The only reason I gave 5 stars is because that is the highest I could go :-). From beginning to end our experience was exceptional. The host was very engaging and answered any questions that I had. My brothers, both renovate homes, kept marveling at the craftsmanship of the house. A lot of attention to detail. We lacked nothing.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Blowing Rock 2021

Such a beautiful property, and a wonderful time! We went tubing at Hawksnest. Skiing at App, and rode the Alpine coaster prior to leaving for home! Perfect space for our family! Beautiful, clean and spacious! Will definitely return!

Wonderful

We stayed at this amazing cottage for a long weekend (two parents, children ages 4 and 6). The location is great; very close to town, but tucked away in a private area. The property has been immaculately remodeled, and it was well appointed with everything we needed. Also, the owner, Stephanie, was super helpful and friendly, and she gave us some tips about the area when we texted her. We hope to come back!

Quaint, cosy, comfortable with all the modern amenities!

A perfect get-away just 5 minutes from Blowing Rock, this is a wonderful home. The owners have made special touches too the home including the kitchen, master bathroom and fun lower level den area. The location is also perfect for day hikes and bike rides. The home was super clean, well maintained, extra warm blankets for cooler weather, great a/c when needed, wood burning fireplace and comfy couches to hangout on. We look forward to our return!

Nice Cabin, Great Location

Very nice and spacious cabin in a quiet and very centralized location. Everything in the cabin is in very good condition. Well located, just a couple of miles from Blowing Rock and about 15 minutes from Boone (bigger chain stores available like Walmart, Walgreens, and chain restaurants). Road to cabin is tight but it is paved and is easy to get to. During my 7-day stay I never encountered any vehicular traffic while driving on the neighborhood road. The non-chain restaurants in Blowing Rock are awesome, specially the Specked Trout. There are not many amenities at the cabin (hot tub, pool table, video games, etc.) except for various video streaming services, but we spent most of our time out and about. There are numerous hiking spots all over the area. Three things that I would add to this cabin is a Keurig machine, some window curtains to the windows facing the street, and maybe a pool table. Other than that, I would say this is a near perfect cabin (with very nice hosts).

The layout and amenities were perfect for traveling with a one year old! Hang out spaces upstairs and down, mini crib and other baby items available, clear communication from owners. We had a great long weekend getaway!

Swedish themed "Dala House" was perfect for our family; ages ranging from 11 to 78. Nearby zip lines, canoeing, and rafting for the youngest; easy to moderate trail hiking and drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway for the oldest. We all enjoyed refreshing new experiences.

We are Ed and Stephanie, and we are mountain people. It’s where we go to relax, refresh and recharge. Life slows down and we breathe easier. Both of us grew up vacationing here, and Stephanie went to college in nearby Boone. When the opportunity to own a little piece of the High Country popped up, our dream came true. The Dala House’s name and design reflects Stephanie’s Swedish heritage. We’ve taken great pride in remodeling and decorating it to create a warm, inviting and peaceful place. We are truly delighted to share it with you! Expect attention to detail, excellent customer service, and lots of warm, Southern hospitality.
