About the property

Lakefront Cottages on Semi-Private Lake, Beach, Boats Fun!

Seven musically themed cottages, all with at least two bedrooms, a setting of rolling hills and a rustling creek, all on a semi-private lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Enjoying the outdoors in year round cottages with lots of wildlife yet near many local attractions.

Our Music Hall cottage is geared to larger groups. It is not on the lakefront, but up the hill about 200 yards from the beach area. You would still have access to the swimming, boating, beach and creek. The Music Hall can sleep up to 12 adults and 2 toddlers. There is a double bed in one room, and a bunk room with 2 double beds and 6 twin sized bunk beds, and a toddler bedroom with two toddler beds across from the master bedroom. The building has central air conditioning. The Music Hall has its own campfire area, picnic area, and has lots of inside space in case of bad weather. Besides a large kitchen and living room, there is a very large rec room only for you and your group that has a few extra futons and a ping pong table in it. Both the living room and rec room have tv's with DirectTV on them.

Lots of water sports - Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming. The area has many lakes and rivers to discover. Not one moment of boredom at Lakeside Melodies.

Enjoy folk music - Bill and his friends are often together in the Summertime to share music by the evening fire.

Kids have a blast! - They can play in the water, on our sandy beach, run around on our spacious grassy fields and have fun at the playground.

A nature lover? - Then you will like Little Pleasant Lake and all the lakes surrounding us. The area is great for biking and hiking.

About Lakeside Melodies Resort

We are Bill and Carla, the couple behind Lakeside Melodies. The first time we saw this place, we fell in love with it. The rolling green hills, beautiful Little Pleasant Lake, the peaceful creek and the three happy ducks living in it. We bought the place and renovated it into a resort, where we would like to stay ourselves. Our goal is to make our guests feel at home. Call us and we can tell you all about Lakeside Melodies and its rich history.

Why 'Melodies'? Bill is a music fanatic. He's been active in music since he was twelve years old. He played drums since high school. Eleven years ago he discovered a peculiar instrument: the hammered dulcimer. He has played nothing else since and already recorded three cd's and performs frequently. In summer he often plays outdoors at Lakeside Melodies, so lots of free concerts!

Bill is an information technology consultant and Carla is a travel journalist, writer of books and magazines. She's Dutch by the way. So for anyone who wants to practice Dutch or is dying to know more about wooden shoes, tulips and windmills, she's the one. Both are sportive people, love canoeing and biking, so ask them for the best routes in the River Country.

Doesnt match the pictures and location provided is differnt

  • 1 of 5

the location doesnt match with pictures. There is no lake on front or back and location is 500 feet far from lake on east side and view wasnt even visible. Place wasnt clean and there were insects inside the house. Beds booked were for 8 but beds had marks that we couldnt even use all beds. We booked it for 2 days but the place was so isolated from the other cottages that couldnt stay for more than 8 hours(only to get some sleep). this place shouldnt be even considered for a girls trip. Grill was suppose to be usable but they have a grill that was rusted and not in a good condition that we couldnt even cook. Needs a lot of upgrade based on the current trending cabins and they need to upload exact pictures of place instead of giving a false impression. I and my friends didnt enjoy the stay.

Owner's Response: This cottage was fully renovated 3 years ago with new beds, new shower, kitchen cabinets, etc. We have 23 pictures on the listing showing the cottage since this upgrade and the resort and are happy to answer any questions at any time. Our listing clearly states that this cottage is 200 yards from the lake, but you still have access to all the boats, beach, swimming, and fishing. We are a quiet, family resort that is close to nature. It is too bad it didn't meet your expectations. You should have contacted us if you had any concerns. We also live on site and would have addressed it right away. When we are not around, we have family that also tends to the resort.

Did not like mouse trap in oven. Need more than one shower and upgrade the kitchen and mattress.

Nice area. Just upgrade it.

Owner's Response: Oh my, we had no idea that there was a mouse trap in the oven! The cottage has been used all summer, including the oven. A previous renter must have put that in there. The building was renovated in 2015 with all new beds and mattresses and the shower added at that time. We encourage our guests to let us know if anything isn't satisfactory and we will do everything we can to make it better.
