Smith Farm at Elon built in 1948 was the home place of the late Woodrow and Francis Smith and there sons Kevin and Eric. Rebecca and I purchased it in the Fall of 2016 and it has been a labor of Love to restore. The home has been completely modernized but still retains the farmhouse charm. Hardwood floors, a modern kitchen with new appliances and granite countertops, and updated bathrooms are just a few of the improvements. A 1000 sq. ft. deck overlooking the beautiful meadow is adjacent to a large covered carport providing a spacious outdoor area to both dine and entertain. 2 of the original outbuildings still remain on the property retaining the old farm feel. This is a perfect location for families visiting Elon University as well as an excellent location for a relaxing vacation.

Highly recommend Smith Farm at Elon! We loved the open floor plan, but with lots of privacy for two bedrooms. You had to walk through one bedroom to get to the "master." The sunroom had two twins, with a glass door. It all worked fine for our family. The decor is charming. "Farmhouse chic!" The house was very clean on arrival, and plenty of linens. The beds were all very comfortable, with ample room for luggage. Our daughter even had room to set up and practice her violin. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner there, and it worked great. Nice cookware, and lovely dishware. We comfortably seated 6 at the table. At night we appreciated the Roku for entertainment. Comfy couches and chairs. The back yard is a huge area, we were able to play frisbee and run around. Great trees! There's plenty of outdoor seating, witht the outdoor deck and carport--awesome place to hang out!
Clean and well maintaned!
This home is very nice and newly renovated. Linens and towels were newer. The furniture is nice and beds are comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you may need. Love the close proximity to Elon, would definitely rent again!

Perfect house, very convenient to the school but far enough way to be quiet
This house was wonderful! It was a girls weekend for 4 Elon Alum who met our freshman year and wanted to go back where it all started to celebrate our 40th birthday! The house was in great shape, plenty of space and was close enough to campus to easily visit but far enough away that it provided a nice quiet setting. The backyard is expansive and full of trees. I (and all of girls) highly recommend this home!
Clean and comfortable
Smith Farm was a beautifully renovated home on a large scenic lot, right in the city, but secluded. Hosts were attentive and accommodating. House was very clean and beds were all comfortable. The only thing that would make this place better would be a fire pit to help guests enjoy the beautiful yard, and a few basic condiments and spices.
