Casa Theano - Old Town

Casa Theano is a fully renovated, in 2021, two-floor house, located inside the walls of the world famous Old Medieval Town of Rhodes. It is dated back in the 14th century, is one of the best –preserved medieval towns in Rhodes which in 1988 was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The strategic location of the Old Medieval Town holds until today it’s value, as the new city of Rhodes is basically built around it. Casa Theano is located just 200m from the “Kokkini Porta Entrance” , that provides easy access to the old and new town, the harbor, and the famous Elli beach. A distance of 600m and 500m away from Casa Theano, you will find located the Grand Master Palace and the Street of Knights respectively, and a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. Diagoras International airport may be the longest ride that you will need to take (13km) but don’t forget, the Ferries and day-boat ports are just 600m away.
Our 76m² fully renovated house can accommodate up to four (4) adults. It consists of two bedrooms one in ground floor and one at the first floor ,both with a double bed. Inside the house there are also two bathrooms with shower and a equipped kitchen. Outside, there is a furnished balcony.
The house is fully air-conditioned, Wifi and satellite & cable TV are freely available.

Lovely house in Old Town

The house has been beautifully modernised. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. It is in an excellent location with some very good tavernas nearby. It is only a short walk to the centre of the old town and parking nearby is easy. Theano is a very attentive host.

A Romantic, Sophisticated Getaway

This was a unique experience that our family will never forget. Within the walls of the castle, but off the beaten path, the location was perfection. The property was clean and well-appointed, and Theano was a gracious and responsive hostess. I would highly recommend it!

Magical Location - Amazing Home!

We booked Theano’s incredibly restored home in Old Town and it exceeded every expectation! She is a wonderful communicator and helpful with specific tips and directions as you navigate the magical spaces of Rhodes. If you looking for a home base that is rooted in history yet also has luxurious comfort in bedding and decor, this is the one!! We are already planning a return trip. Thank you, Theano, for embodying Greek warmth and hospitality!

Can’t wait to come back

Our stay in Casa Theano was the highlight of our trip. It is in an incredible location. Our walk in via one of the historic gates was stunning. Every morning when we left we were awed by the uniqueness of old town. Our hostess went out of her way to greet us as our flight was delayed and we were very late in arriving. She greeted us and the rental was exactly like the photos. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Marco Polos (highly recommend) and had a fantastic meal at Anastasia Estates after a delightful visit to Farma of Rhodes where we got to pet lemurs. Our hostess consistently checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. So appreciate her consideration and thoughtful. Cannot wait to visit again and would absolutely stay here.

Amazing Stay!!

My husband, daughters and I went to Rhodes for our 25th wedding anniversary. Theano was so thoughtful to have a beautiful bottle of champagne and fruit waiting for us! That was just the start. She arranged for our taxi pickup and drop off to the airport, offered to make reservations at the best restaurants and was always available to answer questions. She made us feel as if we were at home. The apartment was impeccable and well appointed. Old Town was safe and friendly with much to offer. No vehicle needed. We will aren't fans of crowded, loud hotels so this was the perfect fit for us. I highly recommend Casa Theano. We will be staying again soon! Thank you Theano for the BEST vacation!!

Had an amazing time at Casa Theano. The house is located in the north section of the medieval city, providing both a convenient location to visit sites, as well as going off the beaten track and discovering bars, shops, super markets and eateries away from the main hustle and bustle of Rhodes centre. The house has been meticulously rennovated to provide a space and modern conveniences whilst also retaining its charm. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had all the ammeneties in place to make our stay as relacing as possible. Theano is a generous welcoming and helpful host. She allowed us to check in earlier and upon our arrival she met us in person to give us a tour of the house, explaining where everything was, as well as offering advice and guidance to help make the most of our stay. Throughout our stay Theano, maintained communication with us to see how we were getting on. We acted on her suggestions for places to eat and they were fantastic options. Overall, my friend and I had a wonderful time in Rhodes and would not hesitate to book Casa Theano in the future.

Aufenthalt Rhodos-Altstadt

Das Objekt mitten in der Altstadt war sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Schlafräume waren groß und die Betten sehr bequem. In jedem Schlafraum war ein SAT-Fernseher vorhanden. Die Eigentümerin war sehr hilfreich und hat uns wunderbare Empfehlungen gegeben. Zentrale Punkte waren in kurzer Zeit fußläufig erreichbar. Nachteilig für uns aus unserer subjektiven Sicht waren die eingeschränkten Aufenthalts- bzw. Sitzmöglichkeiten in der Nähe von der Küche. Hier hätte man das unterer Schlafzimmer variabler mit einer Schlafcoach und einem Tisch ausgestalten können. Koch- und Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten sind für 4 Personen doch eher eingeschränkt. Ansonsten alles perfekt

Casa Theano epitomizes the term, "Greek Hospitality!!!"

My boyfriend, nephew and I stayed at Casa Theano for 4 nights in September 2022 and wish we had been able to stay for a full week or longer! The property was perfectly located near the St. John Gate entrance of Old Town Rhodes,and is built within the surrounding fortress walls of the PALACE OF THE GRAND MASTER OF THE KNIGHTS OF RHODES and close to many other historical sites, restaurants and shopping. It is an easy walk to other sites (e.g., the Port at which the former "Colossus of Rhodes" was located) and the gorgeous beaches of Rhodes town. It is also closeby to the bus station if you wish to take excursions to more distant Rhodes sites like Lindos. What I enjoyed most about the property itself was all the attention to detail that Theano has put into its redevelopment, as well as her personal touch with her guests. She has taken a 7+ century old property in Old Town Rhodes and modernized it to 21st Century standards (including air conditioning in every room!) while keeping all the old charm. Theano greeted us at the gate and then shared some of the details of her experiences on the renovation. It was clear from her passion about it that this property holds a special place in her heart, and now it does for us as well. I even met our next door neighbor (Konstantino) who was so kind and who welcomed us to the area and wished us a good trip. We were made to feel very at home both in and around Casa Theano. Theano also had some complimentary refreshments for us, which was a wonderful surprise. Casa Theano truly epitomizes the term, "Greek Hospitality!" I would highly recommend a stay here for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in history while living in 21st century standards. Now I can say, "I slept in a castle"- check that off the bucket list!

Located in Pythagora Street since the mid 1400s and recently renovated to fit into the needs of the 21st century, Casa Theano is what you need to experience history, Rhodes and Greek hospitality. The house checks all the boxes needed for a memorable experience: fine looks, facilities and location.
Casa Theano after the renovation in 2021 kept all the “ingredients” of a traditional medieval home but got “upgraded” with perks of the 21st century. It is a beautiful blend of history and modernity and as our guests already have said, it gives you the ability to say: “I slept in a castle!”.

Regarding location, Kokkini Porta Gate is 200 meters away from your front door, with access to a free Parking, public transportation or a beautiful walking path full of trees that provide shade for a relaxing summer afternoon walk towards the New Town Center. Pythagora street is also one of the main pathways of the Medieval Town and Casa Theano is located 4 minutes from the Medieval Town Center, which is enough to be quiet and relaxing through-out the day and short in order to be in almost no-time to a café or a restaurant.
Last but not least, the City Port is a 5-min walk from Casa Theano and Taxis are stand-by near Kokkini Porta Gate to fulfill your transportation needs! Don’t forget that you can also use electric cars inside the Medieval Town free of charge to stroll around.
