If you want space, quiet and a fantastic view
This is the place. We had never stayed in an “upside-down” house before and we just loved the ample sunlight, big 2nd floor decks, and beautiful views of Sankaty light in the distance. Our sun-bathing dogs loved it even more. All appliances are in good shape, and there was ample hot water and heat to combat April’s chilly evening temps.

Quiet Nantucket getaway
The upside down design to the house was perfect- we were able to sit on the large second floor deck and enjoy the night stars and beautiful Sankaty lighthouse every evening. Amazing location - it was the perfect getaway. We also used the miles-long biking trails at the end of the driveway daily. House was bright, open spaced and had everything we needed.

Fantastic space for large groups to gather and enjoy! Awesome view of Sankaty lighthouse! Quiet!
Stephen was a great host, we stayed there over Christmas holiday and he made it easy to host my family from out of town. We loved having so much quiet space to play games and watch movies and eat family meals. It was warm and clean and comfortable. Definitely need a vehicle as it’s almost out in Sconset itself BUT it’s a beautiful location! Plenty of necessities to cook and use if you like to cook meals. Just a great place for family! Highly recommend!

The house was so nice , very quiet and a beautiful view of the lighthouse
The house is on the bus line, but it does not run all year. Be ready to use uber or have a car if you are there off season. The bike path is great when the weather cooperates. Close to Sconset, so you can take the bus into town from there if you have a bike.

Relax and Unwind on Nantucket Island
We had a marvelous stay at this rental. It was perfect for our multigenerational family of eight. We enjoyed the secluded location and the wildlife sightings. The upper deck was an added bonus as we were able be outside with the small children very easily. We plan to return next year!

Beautiful Property!!!!!!!
I stayed at this property for a quick weekend trip during the off-season and it was magnificent. The interior has a great home-y feeling and a great layout for relaxing with friends and taking in great views of the island, especially a nice distant view of the Sankaty Lighthouse! Despite most of the town being closed up still, my friend and I had great time! If you're up for some shell-fishing it's also close to some great spots! Look forward to staying again!

Wonderful Christmas Stroll Stay in 'Sconset
My husband and our friends (there were six in total) rented Steve's house during Stroll weekend. It was beautiful there and the house had a wonderful view of Sankaty Headlight when you stood on the top floor porch. The house is much bigger than what the the pictures show, and it was the perfect size for six people. Beds were comfortable and overall the place was very clean and put together. We had some woodland visitors - a few deer and rabbits were spotted out back over the course of the weekend. It was maybe a 15 minute drive to town, and it was nice to be able to leave the Stroll crowds behind and settle in for the night with a glass of wine and our friends in quiet 'Sconset. We usually stay in town when we visit the island, and this was our first time staying on the other side of the island, but we are definitely considering renting Steve's place in the future when we return to Nantucket.

Wonderful house and location
The house is all it is described and more!!! The owner could not have been more helpful with resturant suggestions, walks and really wanted to make sure on our arrival that we were happy. I see why the calendar fills up as once you come here you will repeat. We have already confirmed next year. All the amenities needed and well kept!!! Our collies loved the walks!!!More walks than days as well as wonderful bike trails.. Pamela and Bob Beatty

Rented the house for a girls weekend and absolutely loved the house and our time there. Gorgeous views form both decks, beautifully decorated house and truly provided a relaxing tranquil stay. The owner is very easy to work with and accommodating. I would stay here again when I'm back in ACK!

Nantucket Island dreamhouse getaway
We have been going to this home on Nantucket Island for 10 years now. It is situated on a private lot right across the street from the bike path. The bike path leads to the quaint village of Siasconset. The open floor plan on the second floor is wonderfully laid out. We have taken our vacations there during all four New England seasons and have enjoyed them all. The four bedrooms and two of the three bathrooms are on the first floor. Both floors have decks off the back of the house. It is a very comfortable & convenient home and we would highly recommend it as an incredible island vacation destination. Katie & David Thomson

Family from Cheshire, CT
This was our 4th year renting this house. Easy living! It is a truly a gem; it's comfortable so you can relax but not fussy or overly formal. With the Wave Island shuttle stop at the end of the driveway and the bike path across the street, we never have worries about finding parking in town. Located midway between town and 'Sconset but surrounded by conservation land, it is a peaceful hideaway and an easy ride to the beaches. We love this house and recommend it highly.

Great location
We recently stayed here with our extended family group which included children (from ages 2 - 13) and adults. We had a great time riding our bikes on the convenient bike path, going to the beach and practically living on the awesome 1st and 2nd story decks! The house is well equipped and there was plenty of space for everyone, both inside and out. The view of Sankaty lighthouse from the back upper deck along with a full moon will never be forgotten.

Beautiful house!
We rented this home over memorial day weekend and there were 3 couples in our party. There was plenty of room/space for everyone. The house is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. We all loved the 'upside down' layout. It was amazing to wake up every morning and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee while gazing out at the lighthouse and listening to the birds chirp away. I truly couldn't have asked for anything more. The views were amazing! It was so peaceful and quiet. I would definitely stay here again in the future and would recommend this house to anyone!

We live in Norfolk, Va where my wife grew up. I lived on Nantucket for 9 years and Cape Code (Falmouth) for another 9. I grew up in Olean NY if you have heard of it and moved to the cape when i was 20. We both love Nantucket and have some very good friends there. Could end up living there someday when we get brave enough to retire.

Why they chose this property

I built the house there in Cedar meadows to be close to one of the most important persons in my life. She is the reason i keep coming back to the island and the reason i own a house there.
Long story. Ask if you want to here one of those unique to Nantucket only stories.
Thank you Judy and Leonard Shure for your love and generosity. I miss you
