We want to reassure our guests that we are following a very stringent cleaning, sanitising and laundry protocol, leaving a minimum of 72 hours between bookings - therefore, we cannot accept stays under 4 nights anymore, but are hoping you will want to take your time to discover our beautiful region anyway and if you need to stay for over 3 weeks, please get in touch to discuss prices.

Beautiful setting.
This cottage has been refurbished to a high standard. The most important thing to us was how spotlessly clean everything was. Longparish is a lovely village and is within easy walking distance. There are two good pubs and a very small shop to buy a few essentials. We had a wonderful time touring the area and would highly recommend staying at the Lodge at Eastfield House. Only negative was that there was no wifi.

Thank you for your visit and kind words - we are glad you had a good time with us and enjoyed exploring the area. We are sorry about the wifi issue at the time, it usually works very well but is not unlimited (at the moment) and the whole monthly allowance must have been used up by the couple who stayed before you - we are now more careful and make sure to ask guests not to download films or large files - hopefully we'll be able to install unlimited data in the not too distant future.
Many thanks again for choosing Eastfield House Lodge.
Best wishes.

Well equipped, tranquil idyll with very friendly hosts.
We had a delightful few days at this very well equipped cottage. Our Hosts were discrete but available and very helpful and interesting. Benedicte's treatments were much enjoyed and apreciated, and Roger's books provided perfect holiday reading. Our dog loved the garden. Thank you! Henry

Thank you for your recent visit - it has been a great pleasure to meet you both.
We are very sorry to hear that the closure of the bridge on the A303 seems to have affected your stay quite significantly - it certainly is an inconvenience, but actually only adds a few minutes/miles to a journey when you need to go across or westwards as you have to go in the opposite direction on the A303 to the previous junction (to ours) to start with - we could have shown you on a map had we known that you were experiencing problems, but most of our guests use their satnav or their mobile, so it didn't occur to us to enquire about the issue of the bridge over which we have no control of course.
Nevertheless, I hope that you had a comfortable stay with us and that the beauty of the Hampshire countryside will soon replace the hassle of getting lost in your memory.
Best wishes.

We had the most amazing stay here. Roger was very friendly and helpful when we checked in and helped us with the Wi-Fi! We have family in the area and next time we visit we will stay here again!!! Highly recommend it!!
Roger and Bénédicte are lovely people. They make you feel like appreciated family. And when you stay in their Eastwood House Lodge, you get to experience the peace and beauty of their property but from the privacy of your own home. The cottage had huge windows that allow you to feel connected to the outdoors from the comfort of a warm, comfortable space. You feel extra secure because you’re within a gated yard, yet you have the freedom to come and go when you like. There’s a huge kitchen for those who like to cook. The beds and pillows are very comfortable; the cotton sheets and pillowcases are top quality and are so smooth! We enjoyed this property so much more than a hotel and would happily stay there again.
The lodge is very comfortable, clean and above all else incredibly well equipped, nothing has been forgotten. The lodge looks out on to beautiful grounds. The location is ideal, situated in a very pretty village but near to main roads, enabling easy routes to the many tourist spots. Everything went very smoothly from initial booking to arriving and departure, our hosts were very accommodating.
Thank you for a lovely week.

Lovely relaxing New Year break
My family and I spent a wonderful New Year break at Eastfield House Lodge. Set in a lovely rural location with beautiful grounds (watched over by Jumbo the Lab) it was everything we wanted and more. The lodge is modern, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for a short or longer break. We enjoyed a New Year's Day walk into the village of Longparish, with its thatched cottages, where we had a drink (or two) in The Cricketers pub. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and helpful. We hope to return in the not too distant future and spend more time exploring.
Thank you Benedicte and Roger.

Highly recommend!
We had a fabulous stay at the Eastfield House Lodge. We found it easily with the detailed directions provided in advance. We found the place spotless with more than enough room for our family of four to recover from our flight from the US. Our hosts were so gracious and brought us breakfast groceries since we woke to unexpected (and uncharacteristic) heavy snowfall. It was a perfect location with a quaint pub nearby with delicious food and tasty pints. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommended it!!

Our weekend trip to Beaulieu.
4 of us travelled to this lovely lodge for the weekend for 2 nights. What a wonderful place to stay. As promised we received a text to tell us that our accommodation was ready for us and were duly greeted at the gate by Roger. He gave us a guided tour and explained everything we needed to know about the lodge and also about all the best places to eat in the area. You really couldn't ask for more the kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need and a nice touch to have bath robes and slippers provided too. We ate at 2 of the pubs recommended and were not disappointed. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer but will definately book again and return to this lovely lodge.

Lovely well equipped cottage, shame about the welcome!
The cottage was lovely and more than came up to our expectations. The welcome however was not too good. Roger treated us as if it was our first day in a new job and he was grudgingly showing us round the office! We quickly realised his sense of humour was sadly lacking. This is not the kind of welcome you expect and have never had before in all our 40+ years of staying in cottages in this country and France

Response from VrboOwner on 25 Mar 2020
Thank you for your visit and feedback – we are glad that you found The Lodge comfortable, well equipped and had a good time exploring the area, but are very surprised about your comments regarding the lack of welcome you say your received from Roger. We are both very sorry that you derived a bad impression from his showing you around on arrival, because he always takes great pride in welcoming guests, pointing out all the details to them to make them feel at home while taking care not to be too long, so as not to impose too much on guests’ privacy - surprisingly, guests usually comment on how pleasant and helpful he has been, so we do not understand why he appeared the opposite to you and can only apologise for what we can assure you was simply an unfortunate misunderstanding.
Thank you again for staying with us.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Benedicte Pullen
My name is Bénédicte – I was born in Geneva (Switzerland) where I lived with my family until I married Roger, my English husband, and moved to the UK in 1989 - we have one son who presently lives with us and a (very spoilt!) friendly black Labrador. Roger also has 2 sons from a previous marriage and 5 lively grandchildren. In 2003, I refurbished a house I owned in the French ski resort of Les Carroz, into 3 apartments and rented them out through Owners Direct. I really enjoyed making sure people had a good time and we had lots of repeat bookings; however, the distance made things a bit heavy to manage after a while so the property was sold eventually. During that period, I also trained as a beauty therapist and image consultant and started working from home. Roger is retired but very active and busy - he helps a lot with everything. He is passionate about flying, motor racing and sailing and has written 5 adventure novels with a new one underway.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Eastfield House and the area when we first visited it. Despite needing a lot of work, both the house and the garden instantly felt like home. We liked the seclusion and rural feel that gave the impression of being remote - yet so easy to access - being able to get to Heathrow in just under an hour was a real bonus. Longparish village is beautiful with several bridges over the River Test - famous worldwide for fly fishing - and lovely walks in the surrounding countryside. Over the years, we refurbished the house and outbuildings and improved the garden and decided to offer Eastfield House Lodge and The Studio Loft apartment (in another outbuilding) for holiday/short term breaks, like we used to do in France.
What makes this property unique
Eastfield House enjoys a very peaceful location yet is so easy to access - it is totally secure in a gated property, with ample parking space, and offers total privacy whether you are staying in The Lodge or The Studio Loft. The central position of the property makes it an ideal base for visiting numerous places of interest in central southern England. The Studio Loft was recently refurbished, fitted with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortably furnished - turning it into a light and airy apartment with total privacy. Finally, staying at The Studio Loft or the Lodge offers the added bonus of being able to enjoy total relaxation from beauty and spa treatments in my home salon (mosaiquebeauty.com) just across the drive in the main house.
