This was our third time staying here and a newly constructed Great room has been added to an already beautiful home. This house had everything we could possibly want and both inside and outside have charm and character. The host was outstanding with communication and so helpful anytime I had a question. We hope to return this time next year!

We have stayed here before and love this property! The new addition is beautiful, very comfortable and cozy! We appreciate the fact that they accept pets because our fur baby goes everywhere with us. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!!

The house & property is beautiful! We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The house was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of room to relax! The best part is that the fenced in backyard is fully enclosed through both back doors which was a god send for us and our dogs, especially after being in the car for nearly 12 hours! The bathtub looked amazing, I wish I could have taken a soak. And the additional amenities on the property were stunning, we took photos to remember.

What a charming and cozy cottage and property! The home and the setting is like a scene from a storybook. So many lovely amenities like the chapel, the koi pond and audible water feature, the meditation room next to it, the roosters crowing, the church bell ringing, what a special place! It’s very pet friendly and accommodating with even a small fenced area furbabies to go outside. It’s walkable also to restaurants, market, shops, etc. The new great room is very beautiful and the kitchen is very well appointed. Communication was great and very timely with the host. We loved Tall Meadow Rue and think you will too!

A hidden gem in Mentone

To say the least this property is a beautiful home and provided a lovely story book setting. Our granddaughter said we did good in the selection of a beautiful home, took numerous pictures to show her friends in Albuquerque. The inside was lovingly and creatively decorated. All of needs were more than met and then some. Highly recommend this property. And it has a Dog Yard!D

It was a beautiful home and gardens. We enjoyed our working vacation for the week. Internet service was great for remote work, and the kitchen was fully stocked for our needs for the week. Check-in was very smooth and the owners were extremely responsive.

This place is so inviting, the home and the grounds. New room addition really is a game changer… making a fabulous large space for hanging out surrounded by trees. Loved being on screened porch during rain showers. Loved all outdoor spaces, especially fountain and fish (plus feeding fish daily), chapel, tea house/studio, shade plants, absolutely everything! Can’t wait to return in the fall to enjoy fire-pit and fireplace. This is my 2nd or 3rd stay here and will definitely be back!

Beautiful home

Absolutely perfect stay. House is huge and beautiful property; plenty of room for a family or gathering, though it was just me this trip. Close to hiking at DeSoto Falls Park, BrownPark is a nice walk from home… cute little shops in area. I golfed at several courses with 30-40 minutes (Mclemore is gorgeous)… property owner was a great resource for restaurants and area things to do. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Property

You never know for sure if a destination will live up to the pictures posted in VRBO. Tall Meadow Rue is even more beautiful than pictures because pictures can't depict the peace and serenity that's there. Grounds, house, beds, kitchen; all made this a wonderful stay.

Unique and enjoyable place to stay.

Unique, attractive house located near downtown Mentone. Very well maintained and decorated inside with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We visited at Christmas so many of the outside activities were limited by cold temps but I know they would add to the stay during warmer times.

The perfect spot!

This property is absolutely perfect in every way! There was not one thing that we were disappointed with. Our girls trip was highly anticipated and this property met our every need. We especially enjoyed the four recliners as a place to rest and to play games.. and talk the night away! We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and s’mores. The screened in back porch is a must. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to really take advantage of the Chapel, but hope on our next trip that we really will be able to enjoy it. Definitely want to come back soon!

50th Birthday Moms’ Weekend

My sister and I stayed at Tall Meadow Rue with four of our closest friends to celebrate her 50th. For six busy moms, this was the getaway spot we needed! The house was clean and cozy, the kitchen perfect for preparing meals, and the garden so relaxing!

A peaceful oasis and a perfect stay

Tall Meadow Rue is a delightful hidden gem and a peaceful oasis in the beautiful Mentone community. I needed a relaxing break from reality, and this property was the perfect place to unwind. The home was immaculate, and smelled fresh and clean from the moment we walked in. I’ve never stayed anywhere that provided so many thoughtful comforts as they did. I spent time working on my book in the writing studio, and the sound of the bubbling water in the koi pond brought me so much peace. I’m already planning a return visit.

Beautiful fairytale property

Wonderful property. Beds comfy and convenient to all of Mentone. We stayed here a few days before Alpine camp dropoff. The boys had a blast making a fire and s’mores in firepit and waking up each morning to feed the fish in the pond. Owners were great communicators and very detailed with check in/out process and all the things we needed to know about the property. Would love to stay again!

Magnificent property

We visit the Mentone community often but our first stay at this property. Definitely a new favorite place. We enjoyed the serenity of the property while being just a block from town center. I personally enjoyed setting by the pond fountain watching the fish swimming by and spending a several quite trips to the chapel. Glad to recommend to others.

A Meditative Dream House

I'm almost hesitant to share a review of this home because it feels like such a sacred, special place. While the photos are beautiful, they don't do this home justice. Each space in the house and on the grounds is thoughtfully curated. Whether you're religious or not, the property feels like you're on a retreat with meandering gravel paths, statues, native plants and art. We spent time sitting in the tea house and the chapel, listening to the burble of the fountain, the crackle of the fire, and wind in the trees. The church bells across the street chime every hour through the day. The inside of the home is filled with quiet luxuries too, from the comfortable beds to the reclining living room chairs. We walked quite a bit into town, exploring the little shops and ducking into Mentone Market for food and gifts and Fantastic Food truck for delicious wraps and burgers. DeSoto Falls is a short drive away, as is Brow Park, both of which we enjoyed each day during our stay. We absolutely plan to return to this beautiful, relaxing property. The hosts, as well, were exceptionally communicative and helpful.
