Local places of interest include the National Trust Properties Powys Castle and Gardens, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park, as well as the Welshpool to Llanfair Steam railway, the Montgomeryshire Canal Lake Vyrnwy and Lake Bala, Glasevern Hall and Gardens, Dingle Nurseries and Gregynog Hall.



For those wishing to partake in activities, there are plenty of excellent walks, cycling, quad trekking, clay pigeon shooting, paintballing, go-karting and watersports available nearby.
