Welcome to The Dukes Townhouse. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of York City Centre, which is only a 5 minute's walk away, sat in a leafy street in York, this beautiful Victorian Townhouse has recently been renovated into 5 fabulous 1 bedroom apartments. All have access to unlimited super-fast WiFi and have been fully furnished with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.

On entering through the front door you are immediately drawn in via the beautiful hallway, with both original York stone floors and staircase. The Loft at Dukes Town House is situated at the top of this beautiful Victorian Terraced House. It has been thoughtfully furnished, with a lovely sized living space - comprising a kitchen that is fully equipped, right down to the DeLonghi coffee machine, washer/dryer and dishwasher. The breakfast bar provides an ideal place to enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner or a glass of wine before heading out into the City for a fun night out, or a day spent exploring the museums, galleries, or even catching a show at the two theatres that York boasts.

The bedroom has the most wonderful view across the rooftops and is complimented by a lovely bathroom with walk in shower.

If you want a treat, or a break away from it all, being only a 5 minute walk away form the Railway Station, The Loft is the perfect choice for your City break to the Historic City of York. Perfect for a few days in York

We spent five nights at The Loft and had a wonderful time exploring York. It is a very sophisticated little apartment with all you need. The only thing we missed was a clothes drying rack.

I'd go again

Lovely little apartment, nicely kitted out. The welcome pack, toiletries, bedding, furniture etc were all good quality. It was clean and i felt very comfortable staying there on my own. It is high up, so you do need to be happy with stairs. Perfect location for walking into the city.

Minster View

The Loft was the perfect place to stay in York. Location couldn’t have been better, and you can’t beat the Minster views from the window. We had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend in York!

Great stay at The Loft

Despite the trek up three flights of stairs the apartment is definitely worth the effort! Really well appointed and everything where it should be, it's bigger than you think with plenty of room for two people. The street is lovely and quiet with a large car park just a few minutes walk complete with car charging points. Location is superb, only 5 minutes walk to town.

Perfect score for stays York

We booked our stay last minute and we went straight to Stays to book . We have stayed before at the Dukes. The customer service and instruction is second to none , they’ really think of everything you’d need for your stay and it’s so comfortable. The bed was a little small but we were in the loft room so kind of to be expected. We had a lovely hamper on arrival with some lovely treats . At the Dukes your minutes away from everything you want to see Parking is close by and the rates are reasonable. You won’t be disappointed, thanks for a lovely stay x

Lovely place

Such a cute flat in a lovely area of York. The street is really quiet for being so central and less than 10 min walk to the train station. As mentioned is up 3 flight of stairs which may be an issue for some, but I quite enjoyed that. If anything, I felt like in a cocoon (the height restriction in the bathroom not so much, but it is well designed and protected so that one doesn't get hurt). For the same reason, gets really hot when sunny or very warm, which again may be an issue for some, but I loved it, didn't even need to use the fan available. It has everything you may need even for long stays. If anything, was better catered than other short stays in York with lovely soap and hand cream, dishwasher and washing machine tablets. The hamper was very luxurious and well thought of. Sofa is small but comfortable and loved the oversized footstool, I thoroughly enjoyed placing it under the eave/window and have my morning coffee or read there. There is Netflix available for guests which was great, didn't need to use my own login. The bed is small for 2 (stayed alone) and the mattress too soft for me but I was comfortable. The lumpy pillows were kindly replaced by the owner very swiftly, he was terribly kind and on hand for anything else I might have needed. I have missed having a small hoover, there seemed to be quite a bit of fluff even after the cleaners had just been in. It was very clean everywhere other than under the bed, thankfully I haven't seen that until check-out. There is no noise insulation and some of the guests in the apartment below threw a party on one of the days. I was very lucky, all the others were very considerate.

Worth Getting Your Steps in For!

We wanted seclusion and privacy, quiet and solitude and the Loft provided the perfect escape for our time in York. a good hike up the stairs every day was worth it for the calm that awaited. the team at Stays York could not have been more helpful and accommodating and i would have given 6 stars to them were i able to do so!

Highly recommended!

Best place we have ever stayed in York! Lovely spacious apartment. Nice views across the city from the top floor. As a light sleeper I usually sleep really badly in hotels but this was so quiet and the blackout blinds were great! We slept so well every night!
