The Parlour at Duke's Townhouse

Welcome to The Dukes Townhouse. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of York City Centre, which is only a 5 minute's walk away, sat in a leafy street in York. This beautiful Victorian Townhouse has recently been renovated into 5 fabulous 1 bedroom apartments. All have access to unlimited super-fast WIFI and have been fully furnished with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.

Upon entering through the front door you are immediately drawn in via the beautiful hallway, with both original York stone floors and staircase. You will find The Parlour situated on the second floor. This beautiful apartment has been sensitively refurbished to a very high standard. The bedroom is a luxury retreat to return to after being out and about in York, with a luxury wet room coupled with underfloor heating to complement this. The open plan living area has a fantastic kitchen in which to prepare your holiday treats, then sit by the window at the dining table to enjoy them.

If you fancy a Netflix night in, there are two comfortable sofas to stretch out on, the total indulgence of nothing to do sat in elegant surroundings, with a treat and a glass of something lovely. Just what a City Break in York is for!

The apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the York Art Gallery and another 3 minutes to the steps of the world famous York Minster and only a five minute walk over the bridge from the station. Beautiful York Stay

The accommodation met all of our needs and was extremely comfortable and the additional benefit of car parking in a central location was a real bonus. We would not hesitate to recommend Stays York and their staff (Particularly Zuzanna) who went the extra mile with a request that we made regarding the apartment decor.

The 'parlour' apartment was great. Lovely decor, well equipped, had parking and was well placed for pubs, restaurants and exploring old York.

Everything we needed

The apartment was in great location for central York attractions, it was tastefully decked out and had everything we needed for our 3 day break. A nice touch was the hamper left for us.

Weekend break

This is our 2 time starting at The Parlour at Dukes and highly recommend it. The decor is lovely, it is comfortable and has everything you need. The location is perfect for walking into the city centre. We will definitely return pretty soon.

Lovely place, great location

We were delighted with this property, and in particular the location. Everything about the property was perfect, and we especialy enjoyed the welcome pack, and all the welcome instructions were excellent, including the list of restaurants, bars, etc. We were also very grateful to be allowed to keep the car spacing space for an extra hour.

Lovely stay in a great location

The Parlour is a perfect two-person get-away in a great location. Quiet location yet close enough for a quick walk into the vibrant York city centre and close to Museum Gardens. Fab interior and facilities, parking onsite. A short walk to the Train Station.

Lovely apartment

The apartment is well equipped. The decor is very pleasing. The location is great. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The access to the rear parking is quite a tight narrow turning but we have a standard size car so it didn’t cause an issue.

Great place shame about the welcome pack

Stayed in this building several times now and enjoyed the welcome pack left by the owners. The pack contained locally sourced products which was great, sadly this is no longer offered, instead a small bag containing tea, coffee, milk and mini biscuits is offered! Shame. Also the shower flooded and despite Stays sending someone over within an hour the issue remained so the bathroom flooded every time we showered. Just not the quality and service we have previously experienced.

Highly recommend

The location of the flat is perfect with the car parking provided at the back of the property too. The only thing is that the road going into the car parking is narrow . The flat was very clean, the bed was super comfy and the hamper provided was a lovely surprise :) I would definitely book to stay here again when going to York .

Perfect stay!

We recently stayed at The Parlour on our trip to York. What a beautiful spacious apartment with everything you could need during your stay. Comfortable bed, great shower, coffee machine and a beautiful welcome hamper. Location is perfect just a 5-10 minute walk to the shambles and all attractions., local shops, bars and restaurants a few minutes away also. Very welcoming and helpful staff. We look forward to returning and can not recommend this place highly enough.

Amazing stay!

My partner and I had a gorgeous stay in The Parlour. It was easy to locate and the email guide we received before our arrival was very useful and helped us locate the car parking space no problem. The flat is well equipped and has everything you need for your stay. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We extended our stay another night we enjoyed the city and the flat so much. Would recommend to anybody!

Amazing apartment in a great location!

We spent 4 nights in the Parlour and didn’t want to leave. The property has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard. Its location is amazing, very quiet but easy walking distance to all of York’s attractions. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and offers lovely views over the gardens of the neighbouring houses. It has everything you could need, with beautiful decor, comfy sofas and a wonderfully comfortable King Bed. We will definitely be back!!

Enjoyed our stay. The Parlour at Dukes Townhouse.

We stayed in “The Parlour” at The Dukes Townhouse. The building is on 4 levels, ground, first, second and the Loft. We stayed on the second floor, which I didn’t realise until we arrived, but that’s my fault for not reading the “info” section on the website. NOTE: The second floor takes its toll on your knees if they’re not up to it. Clean and comfortable. No issues at all. Fast internet. Welcome basket is a nice touch.

Just love this apartment and its location! Just a couple of niggles which affected my rest - guests who stay in The Loft apartment, above. Banging doors and moving furniture, the sound is amplified in the night and early hours, far be it for bed time rules to be imposed, but worth noting! This apartment also has free allocated parking, if you’re not actually ‘in’, occasionally appears to be a bit of a free for all!

Beautiful House in a Central Location

Having been a former resident in this area, I chose this location for its perfect access to the amenities and sights of this beautiful City. The apartment is quiet and extremely comfortable, it has everything needed for a relaxing and stress free stay.

Nice but...

Nice apartment within easy reach of the Minster and town but let down by lack of wardrobe (hanging rail not good), lack of proper ironing board, very low backed and uncomfortable sofas and very tight parking space.

Parking wars.

We generally had a great stay. But we had an allocated parking spot which was taken by another stays york guest who should have not. When we reported it stays york they did nothing about it. We spoke with the other people with reserved parking and they experienced exactly the same. If we had known it was a free for all we would never have booked. They need to get that sorted because it leaves guests to fight it out between them and it could have got ugly.

An excellent stay all round

These flats are just fantastic. Newly renovated, very clean with high quality bedding and towels. They are just by the museum gardens and just up from the river. Very close to the centre. A couple of them have a parking space but there is a large carpark Marygate just at the bottom of the road. Communication with Stays York was excellent and they left a really nice welcome hamper. The road is quiet with very friendly neighbours. I travelled alone and felt very safe and am planning to return.

An excellent choice, convenient for the city centre.

Lovely apartment. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped, comfortable bed. The only snag was a gravy winter duvet in the middle of summer. Perhaps a small section on the application form could give a choice of the weight of duvet required: i.e. 4.5, 7.5, 10 or 13.5. We use 4.5 at the moment at home so a move to 13.5 was not conducive to a good sleep. Everything else was superb. We shall be back!
