Monastery 17 is a beautiful top floor apartment , overlooking Loch Ness , just perfect for monster spotting
Sleeps up to 7 with 2 bedrooms , a sofa bed in the lounge and a fold out chair with 2 bathrooms , All linen included

The main bathroom is the star of the show , As you can bath overlooking Loch Ness , it has the largest window on site for the most spectacular view . Simply Breathtaking

There is also free wi-fi and BT Vision in the apartment with Netflix films

The Kitchen is very compact but has everything you should need, including a cooker & hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer etc.

Monastery 17

The location and accommodations were fantastic! Our biggest concern, the stairs, was a nonissue, and we are all seniors. I would stay in the monastery again, should I be lucky enough to return to Scotland.

A Vacation to Remember

This was the perfect spot for us. Located right on Loch Ness, this beautiful and stunning property was peaceful, clean, and quiet. Located about 45-50 minutes from Inverness, the Monastery was situated in a gorgeous town with some shops and restaurants.

The information provided was extensive and detailed (6 pages). I would have found it easier to understand the check in process to have those details listed initially at the beginning. Such as, you will need to text the care taker at ____, 3 days before arrival to obtain keys and to set up your tour.

One of the best properties we've ever stayed at!

This property is amazing! Yes, there's steps, but it's worth it! The view of the loch on one side, and the abbey on the other are picturesque! The flat is well appointed and comfortable; our group of four had plenty of room.

One of our best stays in Scotland!!

This was one of our favorite stays in our whole 10 day, 5 city tour of Scotland. We'll start with the check-in process. We were met outside by a wonderfully nice woman that toured us around the grounds, showed us all the amenities, and gave us a history of the facility. The location was amazing on the shores of Loch Ness and the views from the apartment were fantastic. We loved the space and the fact that there was a kitchen and a washer/dryer in the unit. The kitchen was especially helpful since it was hard to find a place for breakfast before 9am and we were often up and out early on adventures. It was also nice having the boathouse restaurant onsite, and the food there exceeded our expectations. The character of the building was surreal, and we had to keep pinching ourselves that we got to stay there. Be warned, there are a lot of stairs, but it is completely worth it. My one complaint with the property is the queen bed in main suite is very uncomfortable...really it needs to be replaced. Since it was just my wife and I we ended up sleeping in the other bedroom with the two single beds. Otherwise, we loved our time here and it was easily one of the best stays of our trip, I'd highly recommend.

Great stay in Fort Augustus. Host was very friendly and gave us a thorough tour of the facilities. The apartment is bigger than we expected and everything was clean and comfortable. The grounds and amenities are really cool and made our stay memorable. Would definitely stay here again.

the property was very clean, centrally located, quiet, and on an unbelievable piece of property. They may want to mention the 72 plus stairs to the apartment. It was fine for us but may be a little challenging for anyone with a physical impairment, especially with luggage.

Quaint part of history

We stayed here for the experience of being in the Abbey. Everything we needed for overnight was great. Location was great. I knew the three flights of stairs would be a challenge for me but it was worth it. We used this location as a starting off point for day trips. Note to those searching for a place to stay—if you are looking to stay somewhere new or luxurious this is not the place for you. The Abbey is for those wanting to experience the culture of Scotland and stay in a place with history.

Very cool location

The Highland club is a perfect location to stay if you plan to stay on Loch Ness. The town is just right outside the fence of the Abbey so everything is in walking distance. The Fish and Chips at the Loch Inn may be some of the best we had in Scotland. There is plants of room to spread out in the apartment. The check-in process is tricky here because there are three different property management companies at the Abby. I saw many, many people confused as to how to check-in when they arrived. That seems to be universal for staying there, not just for this specific apartment. I would definitely stay here again. Such a cool spot.

Beautiful and well organized

We stayed in this property for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The check in process was smooth and we texted before we arrived and were met at the door. The building itself is as beautiful as it looks and the stairs aren't nearly as bad as we expected. The weather was overcast and rainly but that actually added to the overall experience.The restaurant on site (The Boathouse) is fabulous, although do call them to book just in case. They also were great at accommodating allergies (Gluten for us). There's lots to do in the area for kids, great hikes, castles, watching the boats pass through the locks to the loch. The only negative for us was we had no hot water for 2 days. Building management was responsive but told us they didn't have the part in stock. Totally understandable but made for some cold showers after some somewhat cold days. That said, we could have gone down to the use the showers by the pools so not the end of the world. All in all, the emails from the owner before we arrived set the expectations super well and he was available to answer questions. Thanks for letting us stay at your property!

Wonderful

Probably one of the best staycation experiences that we’ve had. The monastery was just magical I would highly recommend for families and couples alike to choose this as an accommodation for fort Augustus. The area itself was beautiful not too commercial very quaint lovely cafés and pubs and restaurants and right next to it the Caledonian canal. Loch Ness as a view every day all day. Boathouse restaurant was great really nice food I would recommend the salmon, it was amazing - we are already planning our next trip because we just want To come back

Great location

We were a family of eight spanning three generations. The Abbey was a hit with young and old and Fort Augustus was lovely. It is minutes (maybe two) away on foot and had everything we needed, including a pharmacy. The drawback was many, many stairs in the Abbey and no elevator, so be aware.

A Magical Apartment

We spent a month in Scotland and our stay in Fort Augustus was a highlight of our trip. The apartment in the converted abbey was incredible. We had amazing views of Loch Ness, excellent amenities and a comfortable stay. Fort Augustus was a great place to stay, with access to hiking, mountain biking, pubs and great food. We are thinking of coming back next year to run the Inverness marathon. Thanks again.

Beautiful setting

Pros: The apartment is lovely, well appointed, and clean. The grounds are beautiful. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops Cons: Check in was a disaster. We did not receive check in instructions. The first person we encountered was completely unhelpful. Another person happened by and sorted it out, but for a while it looked like we were without accommodations. The apartment is on the third floor with no lift. This wasn’t disclosed in the listing. Not all the pictures shown in the listing are for this apartment.

Amazing location for our family of 7

This was one of the highlights of our entire month in the UK. We had the best views and it was peaceful and relaxing. Two bathrooms were heavenly. Would definitely stay her again and recommend it to others...
