Enjoying a unique setting with sweeping views down the Glen, Balnacraig Farmhouse ( part of the Loch Ness Escapes collection) is located midway between Loch Ness and the city of Inverness ( 5 Minutes each way). Sitting in an historic highland estate the secured location has fully fenced gardens offering direct access to hill and forest walks up to the Great Glen Way and offers all the wilderness of the highlands and while only minutes from the amenities of a major town and nearby transport hubs. It is also a great starting point for the North 500.
This secluded cottage also has plenty of seating and dining areas with a fire pit, bbq and wood fired hot tub with decking and a pagoda. Please note that this is a working farm so there is often livestock around in addition to a plethora of wildlife including deer, pine martins, red squirrels and birds of all description.
The cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove, books, games and TV with free view, netflix, amazon prime etc. It also has beautiful views both sides of the room.
The extensive kitchen/diner is fully equipped with an integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher, induction hob, electric oven, air fryer and every amenity you could wish for. The dining section has a table with seating for up to 5 and has an electric wood burner and a sound docking system.
There is a separate Utility room complete with washing machine and tumble dryer, out door equipment and plenty of storage.
Two comfortable bedrooms with King sized beds. The down stairs bedroom has an en suite shower room and a french window giving direct access to the garden. The second larger bedroom upstairs also has a king sized bed and a full bathroom with shower and bath.
All linen and bedding is high quality Egyptian cotton from Tielle Loves Luxury as recommended by House and Garden Magazine and Country Life and is also used by many 5* hotels. The bedding is hypoallergenic
By request and by separate arrangement we can also provide a cot or small child's bed. All soaps and shampoos are organic and sourced from the Highland Soap Company. I have supplied a comprehensive house manual in which you will also find suggestions for day trips, visitor attractions, shops, restaurants etc - in addition I have also included all the required emergency numbers that you might need during your stay. This property has been approved and has a full Licence and and EPC rating of C which expires October 32

Fabulous!!
Gorgeous cottage in a fabulous and secluded spot but with the convenience of only being 10 minutes out of Inverness! The cottage was exactly as described and more. The directions and arrival information was detailed and precise and the cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. We would highly recommend and we will be booking again in the near future.

Beautiful Farmhouse
Loved the farmhouse, the interior design, and the attention to detail where everything you needed was catered to. I didn’t find the bed as comfortable but otherwise had a superb stay. I loved the location and the trails that were accessible from the Farmhouse. I only wished I had more time to spend there. Will definitely come back again.
Balnacraig Farm House is the perfect location for a exploring the city of Inverness and the surrounding countryside. It has all the advantages of a quiet countryside location which is only a short drive into the city. Comfortable and beautifully appointed with serene views over the estate.

A long weekend break
We had a very relaxed break at Balnacraig last weekend. The abundance of routes available for walking walk in the woods behind the house gave us a wide selection of grades ranging from steep mountain bike tracks to more gentle forest roads. The autumn colours made the walks enchanting and drives along the north side of Loch Ness a wonderful visual experience. Balnacraig was spotlessly clean and really comfortable, we had all we required for a home from home experience and it is so well located for ventures north, east and west. We focused on the west and look forward to making a return visit to explore more of Scotland from this location. Highly recommend this property and if it is anything to go by.... all the other properties available for rent at Dochfour.
