My daughter and I discovered we can live quite comfortably in the upstairs bedrooms, so we are renting out the ground floor of the house to short-tern guest. So do understand that is is SHARED housing, you may not see us much but we will be using the same kitchen and dining area.
Very child-friendly, fun back yard with play set and LARGE enclosed trampoline. 35 minutes from San Francisco, 1 mile from downtown Castro Valley and public transit (BART).
My house is your house during your stay, you can have as little or as much contact with us as you want. Please park in the driveway, there will be a space for you.
We have 3 indoor/outdoor cats, so if you are allergic to cats this is not the place for you! Katya (the official greeting committee) is pictured above on the front steps.
Please note in the pictures - what you see is what you get. The queen bed will comfortably accommodate 2 adults, the sofa / corner unit will work for 2 kids/teens or two SMALL adults. I do NOT recommend booking for four full-size adult humans. While the sofa / corner unit is great for the younger crowd, it does not provide the actual back support a "real" bed would and is NOT recommended for older folks like me! (50+).

About Stacy Spink
Grew up in Rhode Island, spent four years in the military (Navy) and decided to stay in California when I was discharged. I've been a stay-at-home work-at-home parent since my daughter was born. I do 1300 income tax returns a year, plus accounting and payrolls. I ride a bicycle whenever possible and avoid driving. I've been coaching my daughter's soccer team for 10 years and wow do we have FUN! She's also ridden 7 double centuries with me on our tandem bike, starting when she was 10 (her idea, not mine!).
Stacy Spink purchased this House in 1996
Why Stacy Spink chose Castro Valley
A quiet, uncongested location with convenient access to San Francisco and the entire Bay Area. Lake Chabot Regional Park less than 3 miles away. Please be advised that certain local county ordinances regulate the length of tenants' stays.

Perfect for our needs and a great cat
Perfect for our needs. Stacy was very friendly and accommodating. We loved Katya (one of the cats) and the yard activities (swing set and trampoline) were in good condition, a great option for energetic kids to burn off steam. Easy to access BART and freeways. Wished there were reading lamps near the beds. Might be a little quirky for those looking to be very separated from the host.
Great overall experience!
This is a great place to stay! Stacy is incredibly nice and hospitable, and the house in a very convenient location. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay while visiting the area. I can't endorse this place enough!
Comfortable quiet place
We stayed with Stacy for one month. The house was 1 mile from our sons home in Castro Valley which is the main reason we chose it. Keep in mind that there is a SHARED bathroom so if you are not comfortable with that then this is not the place for you. Stacy was a good host and we appreciated all his help. This house is close to BART and downtown Castro Valley.
Clean and organized
Stacy was organized and timely in her messages. Her place was tidy. It was just what we needed.
Very nice place to stay.... Owner is so friendly and helpful... Amazing place for stay...
Perfect for what we needed
Stacy was a wonderful host. He was very helpful and super patient with my daughter who was trying to get adjusted to the different time zone.
The space was more than adequate for what we needed. It was my sister, my 20 month old daughter, and myself staying. There was a dedicated bedroom and the second room was a sitting room with a large enough couch to sleep on (that's were my sister slept she said it was comfy). There was a shared bathroom and in the bedroom there is a fridge and microwave but you do have access to the kitchen if you prefer to use it. Everything was labeled so it was easy to find what you needed.
My favorite part was the 3 kitties that live there they were super cute! And the wonderful backyard. I wish we had been able to use it more. Stacy put an infant swing out there for my little one and even though we were only out there for a little while. She loved it!
Thanks Stacy for opening your home to us!
