Family friendly cottage - Buttercup Cottage

Buttercup Cottage is a little sanctuary, located down a peaceful side street in the heart of bustling Tetbury, sleeping four guests, in two welcoming bedrooms, with one bathroom. This double fronted 18th century Cotswold stone cottage has been lovingly refurbished in keeping with the beautiful period features, with many original beams and a warming gas fired wood burner. Many of the rooms house high ceilings and numerous windows which flood the property with natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Outside, this charming cottage is home to a beautiful enclosed garden, complete with cottage style planting and outdoor seating - a rare feature in such a central location!

This two bedroom holiday cottage in Tetbury is perfectly suited for a family getaway or a catch up with friends, exploring the local town and eateries. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Short break in Tetbury

Really nice cottage great location and Tetbury is a lovely place. Parking is impossible on the street but the car park is 100m away which was perfect. Great communication from the owner

Buttercup Cottage is perfect!

We loved our stay at Buttercup Cottage. Frances has thought of every detail. It is cozy and very comfortable! The location in Tetbury is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and taking advantage of the shops and restaurants in the town. Highly recommend!

Lovely Tetbury cottage

This is our second stay at Buttercup Cottage. The cottage is really well located in a side street in Tetbury close to the church so you wake up to church Bells which is such a pleasure. Clean, comfortable and cosy with a lovely cottage garden - I highly recommend.

Cottage in Tetbury

Great location with only a short walk to centre of town for shops, bars and eating out. Good sized pleasant garden that keeps the sun all day and very quiet. Accommodation was clean with small sitting area, adequate kitchen with utilities, 2 good sized bedrooms and excellent shower. Although ok, the sofas could be more comfortable as could the outdoor seating. Upstairs floorboards “creak” heavy when walking on. Impossible to park on street but car park only a minute away and very reasonable - £4:60 per day. All said we enjoyed our stay at Buttercup cottage.

Pretty cottage and county garden

Excellent location close to church and Town. Suggest twin beds in one of double rooms Sheets need to be laundered and pressed Lawn need to be mowed. Towels too small Clean well equipped kitchen.

Fantastic Long Weekend Away For My Partners Birthday With Our 18 Month Year Old.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Buttercup Cottage over a long weekend. The cottage itself was so warm, welcoming and cosy. The hosts provided everything we could possibly have needed, including plenty of information on the local town Tetbury itself and recommendations to try in the town. We absolutely loved our time at the cottage and it absolutely flew by. We would 100% consider staying at Buttercup Cottage again in the future.

Lovely winter stay

We loved staying at Buttercup cottage. It was in an ideal location in Tetbury and the cottage itself was really spacious for a two bed. All the instructions we needed were available and it was really peaceful. We paid for car parking as it was not much at all. Tetbury itself is in a good location for visiting the Cotswold and it felt really safe and a nice friendly community. Would definitely go back

Beautiful little cottage in the heart of Tetbury, the cottage has everything you could want home from home. The beds are so comfortable and warm, Exactly as described and pictured, Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side but this made us do things we may not have done in the dry, we went on a tour of the spire of St Mary’s church and had a turn of bell ringing, that was amazing! Visited nearby high grove, the residence of King Charles, also visited some of the filming locations of Rivals We would definitely rebook this cottage, Thank you Frances for thinking of everything! Perfect!

Comfortable cottage in the Cotswolds

Buttercup Cottage is clean, comfortable and has all you need for your holiday. The owner is really helpful and quick to reply to any queries. It's on a quiet side street in Tetbury and it's a short stroll into town where you'll find lots of places to eat. If you're cooking for yourself Tesco's is a short drive away. Tetbury itself is really pretty and well placed as a base for exploring the Cotswolds. While there's free parking outside the front door, it's often full but there's a car park a few doors along which is quite cheap. We downloaded the app which made paying easier. The large private back garden is lovely to eat out in the summer.

Historic Cottage in town of Tetbury

We loved staying at your historic Cottage in Tedbury. We really appreciated the instructions and suggestions in detail that we don't normally get when renting. Cottage has everything you need. Beds are comfy. The location is perfect for walking into town just minutes away, amazing restaurants, shops ,coffee shops antique stores and groceries.Very friendly town. Lots of history which we love to explore in the area. The cottage was spotless when we arrived , easy check in , parking right around the corner. The cottage is warm and cozy and even has a backyard garden. Church bells in the distance was a bonus. Thank you for sharing your lovely Cottage.We need a week next time. Sue, Mike and Emma ( Canada)

Lovely stay in Buttercup Cottage

I stayed with my husband and my sister and brother in law. The cottage is really comfortable and does feel like a home from home. Tetbury is really worth visiting, with lots of nice places to eat and independent shops. The purpose of our stay was to visit Highgrove Gardens which is really close by. We also visited Westonbirt Arboretum which again is very close and worth a visit. We had a lovely long walk following one of the suggested routes. All in all we had a great time, and we're so lucky with the weather for this time of year. The cottage has very creaky floor boards, which is part of the character, but a couple of us found it disturbed us during the night. The only other slight negative is the second bedroom needs a mirror. It would be so useful and there is space for one. Neither of these detracted from our overall holiday experience.

A little gem!

A beautiful cottage with a beautiful garden. I was lucky enough to be the first guest to stay at Buttercup Cottage. The quality of the bedding, furnishings and general decor show that it is a much loved property. I had all the equipment and information I needed and the handwritten notes for the oven, shed, central heating and gas fire were a nice touch. There is limited parking on street but this was not a problem, even in the height of the August tourist season, as within 20 yards there is a long stay car park that is free overnight. I had no problems parking in the 5 days I was there. Overall a delightful little cottage in the heart of the town and I’d have no hesitation in staying again.

Perfect Cottage for our vacation to Tetbury

This cottage was clean, comfortable and convenient to walking Tetbury or driving to any surrounding villages or towns. The garden is beautiful, especially when looking out the kitchen window. We had everything needed for a like-home experience. If you want High Tea, the Close Restaurant is excellent. We found excellent coffee at "53" and the Snooty Fox. The Italian Restaurant and the Fish and Chip shop are excellent. There is also a bakery, coffee shop and food Co-op five minutes from the cottage. There is a Tesco in town where we were able to get most anything needed. King Charles has a residence a short distance from the center of town, but book early if you want a garden tour or tea time there. The availability is limited. Chavenger House is also local which is "Trenwith" if you are a Poldark fan. The street where the cottage is located is very narrow and rarely has parking available, which was not a bother for us. We paid a little each day for the car park which is located about 6 doors down from this cottage. We downloaded the car park app so could easily pay from our phone. I would absolutely stay here again if we have the chance to return. Thank you Frances, for a lovely stay!!
