Flooded with sunshine and sweeping Atlantic views, the villa’s open-plan design blends indoor elegance with outdoor relaxation. Just a 5-minute walk from Salema’s beach and a short stroll to the village, this stylish retreat is perfect for families and friends seeking a private, premium Algarve escape surrounded by sea, sky and serenity.

Wonderful holiday in Salema

We spent a wonderful week at the villa! The location was fantastic and hosts were very friendly and responsive. Salema is very well located to take day trips yet fantastic to stay at the beach or enjoy one of the great restaurants at night. Highly recommend!! My only minor recommendation would be to equip the villa with beach accessories such an umbrella and chairs.

We're Ben Marshall and family - long-time devotees of Salema and the western Algarve, a place that has held a special place in our hearts across generations of family holidays. That love for this remarkable corner of Portugal inspired us to create a small collection of luxury villas here, all available through our Simply Salema portfolio.

Sol e Mar - 'Sun and Sea' in Portuguese - says it all, really. This gorgeous modern villa captures the very essence of what makes Salema so special, from its beautifully contemporary interiors to its showstopping roof terrace with views that will take your breath away. The beach and village centre are just a leisurely wander down the charming Rua dos Pescadores.

There's something about Salema that gets under your skin. We first came here as a family many years ago, drawn by its unhurried pace, its sheltered beach and its rare sense of authenticity as a working fishing village that has resisted the overdevelopment found elsewhere on the Algarve. We kept coming back - and eventually, we stopped leaving!

Sol e Mar was born from that deep connection to this place. Named after the sun and sea that define life here, the villa sits just a short walk from the beach along the postcard-pretty Rua dos Pescadores - close enough to feel immersed in the village, yet peaceful enough to feel like your own private retreat.

For us, Salema isn't just a location. It's a feeling. Sol e Mar was designed to help you feel it too.

Sol e Mar has a quality that's difficult to define but immediately felt - a sense of warmth and light that seems woven into every corner of the villa, from its bright, contemporary living spaces to the spectacular roof terrace where the views of the surrounding coastline and village seem almost too good to be true.

Practically speaking, it's exceptionally well equipped: a private pool with a separate children's area, a hot tub, a games room, a bedroom terrace and private parking ensure that everything you need is right at your fingertips. When the villa itself isn't enough - though we suspect it might be - Salema's beautiful beach and bustling village centre await at the end of a short, scenic stroll along the Rua dos Pescadores.

Sol e Mar is more than a holiday villa. It's a place where the sun feels warmer, the sea feels closer and the days feel longer. Exactly as a perfect Algarve escape should be.
