Architect's New Home in Puglia

Our stylish home is in the heart of Puglia. We are nestled in the hills between the Ionian and Adriatic seas in Valle D’Itria. Our home is contemporary design rooted in the traditional Trullo - cone-like stone houses with thick cool walls and fantastic arches. Our area is characterized by incredible food, olive trees, dry stone walls and bright red earth. Relax in the countryside, enjoy eggs from our chickens, swim and explore Puglia, its beautiful small towns and Baroque cities.

The space
We have three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a pool, indoor and outdoor dining and a kitchen befitting serious cooks. There is an automated gate and a large parking area. We have four chickens that produce eggs for your breakfast (you can collect them or enjoy those collected by our house manager, Maria Pia) and several cats, (who own the place). They live mostly outdoors but also live across the way with Maria Pia. We are surrounded by Trulli and ancient farms called Masseria in a rural landscape. We are 6km from the nearest large city, Martina Franca, that has a huge market on Wednesdays and is home to the world renowned opera festival where performances are staged under the stars every summer. Other towns include Alberobello, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica, Ostuni, and the stunning “Florence of the South”, the Baroque jewel, Lecce.
Guest access
You will be greeted by Maria Pia who speaks Italian and English, some French and a few words of German.

Other things to note
There is a cleaning woman who comes twice a week if you wish. She will clean the house but she will not wash your clothes or pick up after you. We ask you to keep it neat and clean. The pool is cleaned weekly. You are welcome to skim it as needed in between cleanings. We have two dogs, Gramsci and Benedetto who roam the property and sleep with Maria Pia across the way. They are very friendly.
