The Old Library

Discover The Old Library, nestled in a prime central location just moments away from Dartmouth's picturesque waterfront. This exceptional home has been designed and furnished to the very highest standards throughout, and can accommodate 4-5 guests.



Step through the arched doorway into a spacious ground floor hallway and utility room. Here, you'll find two boutique bedrooms, each thoughtfully adorned with imaginative and luxurious touches. The master bedroom showcases a lavish king-size bed, a French door leading to a Juliet balcony, and an elegant en suite with a contemporary walk-in shower. (Please note that the en suite is open-plan and does not include a separating door.) The second double bedroom mirrors this sophistication, with an adjacent shower room for convenience. An additional single room is available upon request only, suitable for children under 10 years of age.



Ascend the spiral staircase to 'The Captain’s Galley,' an open-plan living space on the first floor. Adorned with a charming nautical theme, this area offers an excellent space for relaxation and entertainment. The kitchen is equipped with high-end Miele appliances, including an induction hob, dishwasher, breakfast bar, integrated Miele combination oven, steam oven, and fridge/freezer. The dining area features a large round table surrounded by comfortable padded seating, or guests can unwind in the lounge with a TV and DVD player.



Allocated parking is not included, but guests can make use of paid parking in and around the town.

Our holiday in lovely Dartmouth

We have just returned from a week in Dartmouth where we stayed at The Old Library. The accommodation was great and the location was fantastic as it was very central and really close to shops, bars and restaurants as well as the ferry departure points. It was very handy being so close to the Co-op as it was open until 10pm which meant we could easily pick up supplies as and when we needed them. The Old Library provides spacious accommodation and the beds were very comfortable. The showers were also very good. Our party was 3 adults and it was great having the open plan living area where we played scrabble every night on our return from dinner. We came by train so I can’t comment on the parking. A few more coat hangers would he great and some shelving in the bathrooms would be handy for toiletries etc. It would also be useful to have a second key as my husband and I went out early most days, leaving our adult son in the property and he had to let us out and back in as we didn’t want to lock him in.

New Year cold snap

Beautifully well presented property with good living space and central location. Interior design stunning. Improvement required on the thermoregulation downstairs. Particularly cold snap and had to resort to using the 2 portable heaters located in boxes in the kitchen. Shame also the fire/stove wasn’t usable adding atmosphere to our New Year break! Some additional hooks for the ensuite bathroom for hanging towels would be useful as kept falling off the small heating rail (not working) into the toilet (which kept blocking)! Minor adjustments needed to make this a superb stay.

Unusual but charming accommodation.

Location was great. Perfect position from which to explore Dartmouth. Really warm in the property which was very welcome in December! Providing an inventory would be helpful . E.g not knowing there wasn’t a hairdryer I could have popped one in my travel bag. Even though there were speakers we couldn’t use them so again would have taken a portable one if we had known.

Great property and location

The house was excellent, bigger than expected from the pictures. fully equipped kitchen and plenty of room for everyone. Great location and permit to park is only a 5 minute walk away. would recommend this property and would happily stay again. 1. Only one set of keys. This is especially bad in this property as to they are needed to open and shut the door (door will not close without a key to lock it). As I like to go out at 6am for a run, this meant I had to wake my wife to 'let me out' and then again to let me in. otherwise it meant me taking the keys and locking her and my kids in, which is a real risk in the (unlikely) event of a fire. We did ask for an additional set of keys, but this did not materialise! 2. WIFI - the wifi details on display in the house and given with the entry email to the property are wrong! we reported this when we arrived on the Saturday and it was not resolved until the Monday at 5/6pm which as self employed business owners meant it was extremely difficult for us to work for 2 days.
