Dillingen is located on the Saar and is one of the larger towns in Saarland. Its proximity to the river has historically favoured industrial development, particularly in the city's industry. For recreation and leisure, Dillingen offers various parks and green spaces as well as sports facilities. The town park is a popular place for walks and leisure activities.

Various restaurants and pubs are within walking distance. It is also possible to have breakfast in the nearby bakeries. All shops for daily needs are also within walking distance.

The Saar cycle path and various hiking trails are just a few minutes away.
