Had been coming to Maine since the early 70's . After living in different parts of the island decided to move to Town . I can walk everywhere . I can put my bike on the shuttle and take me to Jordon Pond . Then ride back home on carriage rd's . Pretty awesome .
John purchased this House in 2006
Why John chose Bar Harbor
I Love older houses . My realtor called me and said you must see this house . Bought it on the spot . We are close to all . You would literally never have to drive anywhere on the Island . The shuttle 'The Island Exploerer" starts June 23 .
What makes this House unique
All town has to offer is within walking distance .

Home Away From Home
You could not ask for a better apartment or a better host. The apartment is spacious, well equipped, comfortable, in a marvelous location and even has a place to park your car. John is a warm, friendly and wonderful host. He makes you feel like the place is yours. In all my years of travel, with all the homes and apartments I have rented, there is nothing that comes even close to this home and to John. We had a wonderful stay and will stay again and again.
Great place in downtown Bar Harbor
We couldn't ask for a nicer place. Close enough to walk to the center of town but away from all the hustle and bustle. Comfy house with all the amentities. John was a great host. Even helped us carry our bags in.
Thank you 😊
very comfortable and convenient
We really had a very good visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was wonderful coming home to this very comfortable and private apartment. everything my husband and I needed was there. It was fresh feeling, clean, beds super comfortable. Nice towels and blankets. We brought our own food and the kitchen was pleasant and easy to use. That deck you see in the picture was perfect to check your texts and look at the days pictures. Also, every evening we were able to watch our favorite netflix. Thank you for the fresh cosmos flowers too, I appreciated them.
An incredible place and welcoming host.
We spent a week at John's place and loved every moment. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The location is in town near shops and markets. John was an excellent host.
Thank you , its been a awesome summer . Great guest .
We had a wonderful week staying in the apartment on the 2nd and 3rd floor of John's house! We loved the outdoor porch space on the 2nd floor, and, better yet, there's a bakery right around the corner! The beds were very comfortable and the house comes with all of the amenities - wifi, TV with HBO, linens, pots and pans, appliances, and all the comforts of home. Just minutes from a grocery store, two blocks from the water, a short, 10-minute walk to the town center, and within bicycling distance of the carriage trails; it's in a perfect location!
Thank you . All true . Please come back .
John's place was spacious, bright and artful, also centrally located near town. It was nice to have two floors so we could not worry about waking our kids after they went to sleep! John was a terrific host, offering local advice and had a kind approach. We hope to return!
Thank you . it was great seeing all of you enjoying it ALL !! Come back please .
Hike the many trails in Acadia National Park, go whale watching, rent kayaks and explore the lakes and coastal areas, eat lobster, visit the wonderful shops in town, take your pick of many great restaurants, relax and do nothing, relax and swim at Sand Beach, go to the movies at the recently renovated 1920's Criterion Theatre, or watch a movie as you eat pizza at Reel Pizza, or when it's all said and done you could just eat a lobster.
