Oceanview with Large Deck, Historic Cottage

Enjoy the smell and view of the ocean with a 5 minute walk to beautiful Old Orchard Beach. Located on a quiet residential street and only a 10 minute walk to the town pier and Palace Playland. Originally the cottage was visited for many summers by Rudy Vallee. One block from laundromat, restaurant, convenience store, miniature golf; four blocks from train station. Off street parking available. Everything needed to have a relaxing and fun-filled escape.
Large, sunny deck, combined full kitchen and living area, 2 bedrooms on the third floor. Modern, comfortable living room with sofa double bed. Queen bed in master room. Other bedroom with trundle bed (2 twins) and cable TV and WiFi. Charming, private, clean and comfortable. Excellent reviews from my guests. Off-season (Sept--May) rates available upon request call 207.219.9440.

Very nice place. Only complaint is that some of the advertised items were missing. Like laundry and fire pit notably. No tv in the guest room. Otherwise lovely. Very close to the beach.

Actually, there is a fire pit which I had moved to the back of the building because a previous family wanted it out of temptation for their little ones. I wish I knew you wanted to use it because I gladly would’ve set it up for you. I’m not sure what you meant regarding laundry because I don’t advertise that I have a washer and dryer. It was truly a pleasure to host you and I hope these deficiencies won’t detract you in the future.

Nice apartment well located

Well located with only a small walk to the beach. A kitchen well equipped and BBQ to make our own meals. A large living room for everyone to relax. We appreciated our stay here at OOB.

Great stay

We had a great time! The house was a short walk to everything we needed with 4 kids. It was great being in a home rather than a hotel so we didn’t have to order out every day. The host was very helpful and informative!

Lovely home

This was a home which was centrally located to everything we needed, including a super quick walk to the beach! Allison was great to work with and very attentive during our stay. Space and amenities were great.

Very nice property

Nicely decorated property, apartment on 2nd floor in a convenient location just a short walk to the beach. Apartment has a nice layout and comfortable for a couple or small family.

Very clean and super organized. Alison, the host, goes above and beyond communicating with her guests! I would give our stay and her 10 stars if I could. Nice cottage setup, great deck to sit outside to chill, enjoy coffee and homemade cookies. Yes, you read that right, she baked extra cookies and offered them to us - just amazing! Worth staying at and I would have liked staying longer if we had the time available. Highly, highly recommend!

This was perfect for our girls trip. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and about 1 mile from the amusement park and good restaurants. It was very comfortable and clean and in a quiet part of town. It’s not on the ground floor so there is a flight of stairs to get to it. Our host, Allison, was so helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Family trip to Old Orchard Beach

The rental was cute and had everything we needed. A few minute walk to the beach, restaurants, shops, and park. We stayed after Labor Day so the town was pretty quiet, but that was actually great for us since we had our 19 month old daughter with us. The rental itself is on the upper floor of the house so expect stairs, but it also has a nice deck for when the weather is nice. The owner Allison was easy to communicate with.

We loved our visit over Labor Day weekend in old Orchard Beach Maine. The owner of the property,Allison, is very friendly and welcoming and although I am very familiar with the area, I know that she would be happy to answer any questions for visitors. The property itself was very comfortable, very clean, well appointed, and the location is extremely Convenient to the beach as well as the fun and festivities at old Orchard. I highly recommend renting this property.

A week at the beach with grandchildren

This is the perfect place to relax with family you don't see very often. There is a wagon and chairs for days in the sun. There is a deck or living room space to sit and catch up from months gone by. Also in the area are a couple ice cream places and restaurants to go out for the evening. There is not a lot of extra play area for rainy days be we didn't have any of those in our week. Alison gave us some sparklers for the grandsons entertainment one evening. She made the in and out very easy and answered questions whenever we had one. I'd stay again another summer and might stay a couple extra days for just my wife and me to sit and read in the salt air.

Charming cottage within walking distance to everything

Our family of 5 greatly enjoyed our week at this well maintained beach house. The two levels of living space allowed everyone too spread out when there was time to relax. The small kitchen was completely functional and we cooked a few meals using the varied assortment of provided pots, pans and utensils. With two couches and additional chairs, the cozy living room was still spacious enough for family game night and watching movies together. We loved being able to walk to the beach in just about 5 minutes every day. It was also a quick walk to play mini-golf as well. Be warned, with several rail crossings nearby, the tracks that parallel the shore line are active and you may be slightly annoyed by how loud the train horn is. Although, I suspect this is the case for any home on the east side of town. The owner was friendly and helpful, both via communications and in-person on site, but also gave us all the space we needed.

I am so fortunate to be able to live in this paradise. Although the summers are the period of high demand I also love the solitude of winter with the thundering waves and snow shoeing on the beach. I take pride in the accommodations and comfort of my guests.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The location is perfect. Close to the beach but 'far from the madding crowd'. Built more than 100 years ago with sturdy structure and materials. I have taken care to preserve the charm while incorporating updates such as the hardwood floors, new windows, granite countertop, etc. It was once the summer cottage for Rudy Vallee when he was playing at the pier during the big band era. Since he also wrote the University of Maine (my alma mater) theme song, I have a strong affiliation for this home.
