Five-star experience all round, the house was exactly as described and spotlessly clean and tidy, living space and bedrooms were really comfortable and well-stocked kitchen for cooking. Outdoor space and overall setting made it really special. Location was great, tucked away down a quiet, private lane. Easy check-in and really good communication before and during the stay.

Short and sweet weekend break

What a fantastic house! We absolutely loved our time at the Cot. Everything has been so well thought out and it’s been furnished really well. Our Spaniel loved the choice of dog beds, toys and treats. We had lovely walk to Rye and another walk to the Charles Palmer Vineyard for some wine tasting (highly recommend) We’ve never really thought of going back to the same place twice but the Cot has changed our minds. We will be back!

4 days at the Cot

One of the best properties we have ever stayed at. Just a lovely, light-filled space with everything you could need and want (including the perfect sofa). Ok, if being really picky, a proper wooden spoon, more black bin bags and enclosure to keep our unpredictable rescue mutts at bay would have been good. . But, no, still the perfect holiday home.

The Cot at Winchelsea Beach

Everyone loved the cottage and we all found it very comfortable. We particularly loved the outside space which was good both for eating and relaxing. We did, however, have a small problem with a nail sticking up on the wooden floor of the shower room and it was not easy to contact anyone about it (it was a Bank Holiday!). We couldn't locate any tools despite being told there was a hammer in a cupboard. In the end my son managed to bang it down using a stone. Otherwise everything worked well. Minor problems were: there was no teapot and no cafetiere for the coffee; it was not possible to have the grill and the oven on at the same time so restricted what we could cook for five people.
