The Forge at Trevadlock Manor
Escape to the countryside in this delightful converted barn, close to the edge of Bodmin Moor known for being designated an International Dark Sky Landscape.. The property welcomes four guests, making it ideal for couples and small families, and has a sociable layout and access to shared facilities, such as a games room and children’s play area. You’ll be perfectly placed for exploring the wild and remote landscape of Bodmin Moor, with nearby highlights including Golitha Falls (9.5 miles) and Hurlers Stone Circles (7 miles). The cottage is approximately 20 miles from both the north and south coast, allowing you to enjoy day trips to Cornish hotspots such as Fowey, Polperro, and Port Isaac. For a day at the beach, journey to the seaside town of Looe (20 miles) or the surfing resort of Bude (25 miles). Closer to home, the market town of Launceston (7 miles) has a great range of independent shops and eateries and also boasts a fascinating motte-and-bailey castle.
The countryside retreat is set in the grounds of a manor house, alongside four similar properties. Inside, the property has a reverse-level layout, with two inviting bedrooms – a king and a twin – located on the ground floor. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a stylish family bathroom on this level. Heading upstairs, discover a fabulous, open-plan living space. The lounge/kitchen/diner has an impressive vaulted ceiling with exposed trusses, as well as French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. Along one wall is a sleek kitchen area with everything needed for a self-catering getaway, and there’s a wooden dining table for enjoying mealtimes as a group. After a busy day, get cosy in the lounge area, where you’ll find a roaring wood burner and a Smart TV for catching up on all your favourite programmes.
From the front door, a path leads to an outdoor seating area with a BBQ – the perfect spot for an al fresco supper on a summer’s evening. Guests have shared access to a games room, children’s play area, and fenced, dog-walking area. Through the gate in the orchard you will have the freedom to explore the additional 20 acres leading down to the river Lynher. The cottage has ample private parking.
