About this property
Cuckoo Springs Cottage, Aberporth
Cuckoo Springs Cottage is a cosy, thoughtfully renovated retreat set in a peaceful wooded valley on a smallholding in rural Ceredigion. Ideally located just a short drive from the stunning Cardigan Bay coastline, the cottage offers the perfect base for exploring one of West Wales’ most beautiful regions.
Within easy reach you’ll find safe, sandy, dog-friendly beaches and charming seaside villages including Aberporth, Tresaith, Llangrannog, New Quay, and Mwnt. Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a romantic break, or an outdoor adventure, the cottage provides a welcoming place to return to after a day by the sea.
Inside, the cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable “home from home” stay. Warm, inviting, and carefully prepared for guests, it’s a place where you can truly switch off from everyday life, slow down, and spend quality time together. Surrounded by nature and far from busy roads, the setting is wonderfully quiet. At night, the low light pollution means the skies come alive with stars, making it a perfect spot for peaceful evenings and stargazing before settling in for a restful night’s sleep.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, a network of walking paths begins right from the village, offering gentle countryside strolls and longer scenic walks through rolling farmland and woodland. Nearby country lanes provide beautiful cycling routes too, often lined with wildflowers in the warmer months, so feel free to bring your bike and explore the area on two wheels.
The nearby market town of Cardigan offers a vibrant mix of independent shops, galleries, cafés, and the historic Cardigan Castle. Just beyond the town lies the wide sandy beach of Poppit Sands at the mouth of the River Teifi — a wonderful place for long coastal walks.
Cuckoo Springs Cottage also sits close to the Pembrokeshire border, giving you easy access to the highlights of both counties. Enjoy boat trips to Cardigan Island, try paddleboarding or kayaking at Aberporth, go pony trekking in the Preseli Hills, or relax at one of the many welcoming dog-friendly pubs, restaurants, and beachside cafés scattered along the coast.
