Off street parking, private entance, 2 blocks from Sacred Heart Hospital, less than a mile to Gonzaga University, and downtown, on beautiful South Hill, this meticulously maintained 2 bedroom Rockwood apartment is quiet, clean, and close to everything. Much attention has been spent on comfort and convenience on this new suite. You will find a few breakfast items in the full sized fridge, as well as coffee and coffee accoutrement. Kitchenette also has two-burner hot plate, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and sink.
Full-sized four-piece bathroom is stocked with hand-wash, shampoo & conditioner, bodywash, some nice bathsalts, and plenty of fluffy towels. You are also welcome to use the washer and dryer. Detergent etc., is provided.
Also, feel free to enjoy the patio all you want. It's very peaceful. This unit is in the basement so please be aware that you will need to descend down a flight of stairs. Tv features Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime, and more.
Lisa has been a practicing massage therapist for 33 years and is available for sessions. Appointment is necessary. $70/hour.
There are several fantastic restaurants within walking distance. Fleur de Sel has amazing breakfast crepes - savory AND sweet - and is literally a 5 minute walk away. It's nothing fancy but the crepes are great!
If a longer morning walk is interesting to you, the Rockwood Bakery is 1 mile through the gorgeous Rockwood residential neighborhood. Beautiful historic old building with antique ambiance, incredible coffee, and delicious food. (Unfortunately it is closed on Sunday. ) It's just a 2 block walk from there to Manito Park. Make sure to hit Duncan Gardens, the Japanese Gardens, and the Perennial Gardens. .
Another fun and close place for breakfast is to The Biscuit Wizard downtown. That whole block is filled with fun places to shop, eat, and drink. (It's very lively at night!) You can walk to the river from there and do a really nice loop over to Gonzaga, downtown, Riverfront Park and back. Really lovely.
There are also several restaurants just a 5 minute walk up the hill near St John's Cathedral (SO beautiful!). Lindaman's Gourmet Take-Out not only has fantastic take-out food but also a beautiful restaurant for dining in. (Sadly though, also closed on Sunday.) One more block away is Bangkok Thai. It has some of the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Across the street is Brain Freeze which serves amazing homemade gourmet ice cream.
When you drive through Spokane you'll see 2 huge old smokestacks downtown. That is the old steam plant. It used to heat all of Spokane in the early 1900's. It's been completely renovated and restored. The restaurant (The Steam Plant) has food that is out of this world. The ribs are amazing and the mushroom pizza is to die for. It is also a brewery and features seasonal beers and barrel-aged limited releases. And you can wander through the plant too... even go into one of the smokestacks and look up. It's got the original gears and dials and meters catwalks, etc. It's my personal favorite restaurant in town. Don't miss it!
Riverfront Park (site of the 1974 World's Fair) is, of course, a must see. Such a beautiful place to walk (or jog). There is a beautiful Carousel, The Skyride (rated one of the top 12 scenic cable rides in the world), which takes you over the Spokane River/falls. In the winter, there is a lively ice-skating ribbon. So much fun!!
And you can not come to Spokane without visiting the swanky Davenport or the legendary Frank's Diner (an old rail car).
The best coffee downtown is Atticus Coffee. It's got the best gift shop EVER! And if you visit Auntie's Bookstore (just a block away) sure to go to The Pottery Store in the back. It's actually an art co-op that has been in Spokane for 40 years and has much more than just pottery. The artists work the store and are always happy to visit. Who knew Spokane had so many talented artists?
If you're interested in a nice day hike, Bowl and Pitcher in Riverside Park is a local favorite. There is a beautiful suspension bridge that is especially fun to cross in the spring when the water is high. (Note... RiverFRONT Park and RiverSIDE Park are 2 different parks.)
Because I am so close to the hospitals (especially Sacred Heart Hospital) I get have a lot of guests that are here temporarily working (see my weekly and monthly discount rates) or are here with friends or family members who are getting medical care. Either way, this place is quiet and nurturing. A wonderful place to rest after a difficult shift at work or a stressful situation with a sick loved-one.
No matter the reason for your visit, I will do everything in my power to make your stay comfortable and easy.
