We checked into the property after watching a video that they send you. Upon checking in we couldn't find the way to turn the heat on, couldnt get signed in to the wifi and didnt have the pool heated (we had asked for this in advance and the heated pool was one of the only reasons we booked). We tried to call the host. We texted. No response. We began looking around and realized that there is NO HEAT!. I realize that some places in different locations around the world dont have heat or air. Completely get it. This home was not listed that it did not have heat. So it was December and at 3pm it was cold, rainy and around 55 degrees outside and honestly felt colder inside the house. It was forecasted for the temp to drop even lower at night. We have a child and could not stay somewhere that was that cold, nor did we want to freeze for the amount of money we spent. The house is north and a lot colder than it was on the south coast. We could not access the wifi and had to leave to call them. We called and texted the host. No answer. I contacted VRBO and they attempted to contact the host as well. No luck. We had to return to Funchal and get a hotel room for the night. They finally texted me the next day at 3 pm with only "we seen that you called". I responded and they never responded back. We had to get a hotel for the rest of the trip which was a lot more expensive because it was last minute/ high travel time/ lack of options. Will also say the area is sketchy. Beautiful home.
