In addition to the sandy beach, spend time discovering the ruins of the ancient abbey, which was said to inspire Bram Stoker’s Gothic horror story, ‘Dracula’. Robin Hood’s Bay, a picturesque former fishing village, is just 3.5 miles away and has a sandy beach and plenty of rock pools to explore.
A lovely home-from-home two-storey cottage, you will find yourself warmly welcomed at this property with thoughtful touches to make your stay relaxed and cosy. From the small vestibule, head to the lounge, where you can admire the incredible rural views. The plush leather sofas are perfect for reading or watching a favourite box set on the Smart TV. There is a downstairs bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. An open-plan kitchen/diner provides a spacious area to socialise and boasts all the appliances needed to create hearty breakfasts or dinners. On the first floor, you will find two double bedrooms. Although there is no private outdoor space, there are walks from Stainsacre to Hawksker, and access to the Cleveland Way is less than 3 miles away. There is private parking for one car.
With the North Yorkshire Moors and the coastline offering many attractions, there are plenty of activities to suit all ages and tastes. Danby Lodge National Park Centre (14 miles) is great for walking trails, children’s adventure, relaxing gardens and star gazing. Runswick (9 miles) is an idyllic town with a long stretch of beach to walk and the opportunity to go hunting for fossils. For a more relaxing day, hop on board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (2.5 miles at Whitby) and journey through the breathtaking scenery to Pickering.
