Napoleon’s sister had her sumptuous residence here, and many famous writers, such as Shelley and Lord Byron, were guests of the Burlamacchi family. In the 18th century, aristocratic families from all over Europe would gather in Bagni di Lucca to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the thermal springs.

The estate consists of three palaces dating from the 1700s with 20 bedrooms, surrounded by Italian-style gardens featuring an infinity pool and a private spa house where health treatments can be booked.

The staff prepares a healthy daily breakfast (included), and meals are prepared using Teresa’s farm-to-table menus, featuring recipes passed down from her mother.
