About Jim & Judy Pearson
This home is owned by two familes who have been best friends since the late 1980's. The Pearson Family (Jim & Judy) and the Trice Family (Rick & Debbie) have been renting vacation homes for the past 10 years and are excited to share this home with you, your family and friends. Both families have lived in the area our whole lives and have raised our children along the shores of Lake Erie. Both families enjoy boating, antiques and wine. We have recently taken our love of wine to the next level and are the proud owners of The Winery at Spring Hill in Geneva, Ohio. Come join us for a fun and relaxing vacation!
Jim & Judy Pearson purchased this House in 2006
Why Jim & Judy Pearson chose Ashtabula
We purchased this property back in 2006 due to its location and wonderful beach access. Not many peices of property like this one between Sandusky and Conneaut, Ohio!
What makes this House unique
This property was designed and decorated as if our family was going to live all summer here! No attention to detail was missed yet the home has a warm and comfortable feel. Just like home, plus much more...

Pearl beach Lake house
This is our 5th or 6th time renting the house. We all love the location. The owner was quick to respond when we needed something. I guess the one thing is the furniture is not really comfortable. It should be replaced with something more relaxing. Love the table and view from the large room. All in all we really enjoy staying there. Great fire pit. Perfect weather too.
Overall we had a fantastic stay. The home was stocked with everything you would need. The home accommodated our family well.
The only thing that was a disappointment was that there was no beach at the property. That was one of the main reasons we chose this home. The water was high so the beach was non existent. It would have been nice to have had a heads up.
Elizabeth, we are so sorry for the lack of beach this summer! The Ohio Department of Natural Resources just published the July report on water levels and Lake Erie was 33" above average height for this time of year and the third consecutive month at a historic record high! We are definitely struggling with our property and property owners from Vermillion to Buffalo are feeling the strain. We continue to hope that some resemblance of a beach will appear, however as the season is beginning to wind down...we are loosing hope. Our beach and access to the beach has been the calling-card for our rental homes over the years and the high water has not only eliminated our beach, but has done considerable damage to our access as I am sure you made note of while vacationing with us. We are truly sorry that you and your family were not able to access beautiful Lake Erie as so many families have in the past and we hope that water levels begin to reseed soon. Aside from our Great Lake Erie, I hope you and your family were able to enjoy the other amenities that the properties offer such as the spacious indoor space, fire pits, expansive green-space and the community, including Geneva on the Lake, 17 Covered Bridges, Historic Bridge Street and more Wineries than can be counted. It was a pleasure to serve you and your family and we hope that we can host you again...here's hoping that the lake water levels will begin to reseed!

Fun and relaxing vacation.
We had a wonderful vacation at this property. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the grounds and around the fire pit looking out over the lake. The owners were responsive to all our inquiries leading up to our vacation and a delight to do business with. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved serving you and your family. Sharing our property, the community and our Great Lake Erie is one of our most cherished gifts to offer. You and your family are welcomed to stay with us any time you are in the area! Your Friend, Rick
Pearl Beach House
A great family place to stay... All of the things a family needs to enjoy themselves and have fun...
As always, you and your family are always welcomed to our homes. We pride ourselves on having everything that you need for a short weekend stay or an extended week-long vacation! Thank you and your family for making our home, your home for so many years! Your friend, Rick
Our very large group (19 adults, 5 children) rented Lakehurst Bungalow and Pearl Beach last week. Both homes were very clean and well appointed. The adjacent backyards provided easy access between the homes and kept the little ones away from the road. We especially enjoyed the fire pits, picnic and patio tables.
Due to heavy rain this spring, the lake access was difficult and we were disappointed in having virtually no sandy beach. Previous renters raved about the beach and we know there was nothing the owners could have done. You can't fight Mother Nature!
We found several local public beaches and used those instead. A visit later in the season or during a year with less rainfall, staying in both or either of these properties would be wonderful.
Nice older home
Nice quiet neighborhood, house is older but fit our large family nicely. Only problem was my daughter has a dust mite allergy and reacted to something in the house resulting us to leave a day early. The beach was nice but due to all the rain it was flooded.
Valerie, We are so sorry that your daughter became sick and you had to leave early. The Pearl Beach Lakehouse was built in 1879 and pieces and parts added over the years with the last major addition added in 1967. We rehabbed the home in 2006 as a home for our families to gather during the summer, but decided to rent for a weekend or 2 and the rest is history! The home is so busy now with summer rentals, our own families can not get a weekend to stay. I hope we can host you again sometime in the future for a week's stay. Rick
You have beautiful Lake Erie at your doorstep! Although rental of water-sports equipment is not locally available...there are plenty of boat ramps and opportunities for self-owned water-sports equipment such as kayaking, jet skiing, windsurfing, rafting, power boating, sail boating, waterskiing and tubing! In addition to shelling...do you know what sea-glass is? Plenty of sea-glass finding opportunities on our beach!
Ashtabula County boasts of 18 Covered Bridges, including the longest covered bridge in the nation (Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge) and the shortest covered bridge in the nation (Liberty Street Covered Bridge).
Did someone say winery? We have 21 wineries in the area and the finest winery, The Winery at Spring Hill is less than 10 miles from the Lakeview Lodge!
