Great Value

We had a great stay at this Maui Sunset unit. The location and grounds are beautiful.I used the sofa bed and it was comfortable enough for a good nights sleep. They’ve added a memory foam mattress topper, which helps.Great value for the price. Unit is a bit dated but that’s why the price was right. Everything was spotless and in good working order.Added bonus was the front closet with beach toys, Tommy bahama chairs and hard and soft coolers. Really helpful for our daily treks around the island.Washer/dryer is full sized which is also excellent.

It was very nice. The property manager was helpful. We was very happy with the location. The condition of the vacation rental was okay. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful courtyard. Very organized and professional booking system. Condo unit was older, but well equipped and very clean. Great swimming pool and BBQs. The beach was nearly and beautyfull.

Perfect location but unit was very out dated and not clean at all. They had unclean sheets in the sofa sleeer and twin in the living room. Then they tried to blam me that they didn’t know it was for 4 people. The master bed was clean. Through vrbo they ask for how many. The coffee maker was clean but you move it forward and behind was filthy. They only surface clean. I diffintly go there again but different unit. The office and ground keeper kind. My fault for not contacting them sooner. They are returning my cleaning fee.

This unit had everything we needed. The beach in not much for swimming, but great for watching the sunsets (quite a thing here). The manicured grounds are fantastic, and love all the outdoor games available to check out at the pool. Community grills are a great way to visit with people from all over. We keep coming back to Maui Sunset—-best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Worth every penny to us

This unit was really good for us. 1 bedroom, 2 baths (1 a shower) in a great location. The view from the lanai is hard to believe. I've never seen such attention to a property's lawn. The entire lawn looks so much like a putting green that I thought it was artificial turf! In fact, they DO have an informal putting green on the lawn with various holes to practice on. They supply the putters and balls. It was busy a LOT! Very close to Azeka Mall, an easy walk to the restaurants and stores there. Plenty of parking at the Maui Sunset. We never had to search for a spot. There's an elevator to each of the 5 floors (not all condos in Maui have elevators, this is a "plus"). Nice pool and hot tub, with tennis courts between them and the beach. It's a great area to watch the sunset and take your dogs out (there was a lot of that) and meet people if you like. The condo itself is well priced for what it is: a very functional and relaxing spot! No granite counter tops or shiny new appliances. But everything works and does you what you need. All the basic amenities you need with none of the "flash and flair". Which was perfect for us. Older decor, but clean and easy. We're not the only ones, it appears to be booked out until early 2025 (hoping for someone to cancel, we'll go again). Check in was easy. Close to a lot of nice eateries, easy parking. Not fancy. Not for everyone, but if you're looking for Hawaii at a lower price with decent but basic accommodations, it's perfect.

The accommodation was comfortable but did require some updating.

Dated rental

Maui Sunset is beautiful, the rental needs updating. Our stay was nice. We had to have repair man to correct some problems. We did do a cleaning. All was good and enjoyed the stay.

Great property and condo unit

Enjoyed our stay for two weeks in the condo. The grounds and property of the Maui Sunset was incredible. The condo suited all of our needs (two parents + 12yrs and 9yrs). Yes it is slightly dated but clean and well maintained. We will be back!

Great price for location.

We loved the location. Although the unit hasn’t been updated it had everything we need to have a fantastic stay. We even meet up with the owner who went out of his way to find us some more outdoor equipment. Great value for the price.

Great place in an ideal location, good for families with children of all ages.

Location was ideal as a home base for visiting Maui and the suite is fully stocked with everything you need! Only downside is the pull-out sofa is extremely worn out and the “mattress” is torn up and not very comfortable. Great value considering how pricey accommodations can be in however.

Check-in and out were easy. We did find someone's baby underwear under the small table next to the TV stand and a 3 year old Costco receipt between the sofa cushions. Could have been oversight by the cleaning crew. We did enjoy our daily breakfast on the lanai listening to all the birds.

Nice little place

We had a great time at Maui Sunset. The place was modest but comfortable and we had everything right there at the complex for our family to enjoy paradise! A vacuum in the condo would be nice for the future. Mahalo and Aloha!

A bit of paradise...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo unit was in need of an update...cabinets, counter tops, bathrooms and the patio furniture. It was clean and the inside tropical furniture and decorations made us feel Hawaiian. However, we did not use the toilet in the bedroom as it ran constantly and the 2 clocks in the main living area need batteries. Not happy with the TV service so we did not watch it much, but the WiFi was good. The frying pans in the kitchen need to be replaced otherwise there were enough dishes to use as we cooked most of our meals due to dietary restrictions. The Brita Water filter pitcher in the refrigerator was a plus and saved us from buying bottled water. The property owner also had towels, beach chairs and other beach items to use which is why we like VRBO services. The location of Maui Sunset on the beach was ideal and their lawns were the best ...great for bare feet and well kept. For the price per night this property was okay.

December 2021 stay

Older decor, kitchen drawer is broke, tv didn't work in living room, furniture not comfortable, and bring your own TP as we ran out 1/2 way through our stay and they told us to buy our own.
