About this property

Woodland secluded cabin on 7 acres, with private dock and kayaks

This secluded cabin sits among 7 acres of wooded hillside, with it's own dock and private cove on the lake. It is directly on the lake and sleeps 8 comfortably, with 2 FULL bathrooms. Wifi is available. You may also rent pontoons from Nick's Marina, approximately 20 minute drive from the cabin.

Spring, summer, and fall are great times to escape and enjoy this cabin, with it's own boat dock and alcove area for swimming. 3 kayaks, along with life preservers and paddles, are provided for your enjoyment. The cool nights and sunny days invite you to enjoy the water during the daytime, as well as the campfire area in the evening. Enjoy family time, or friend time, with roasting marshmallows, making smores, and creating memories! You will need to supply wood for your campfires.

The Kitchen/Dining/Living area is an open floor plan. Stay toasty by the fireplace and enjoy Wifi, Netflex, or multiple board games that are provided for your entertainment. In the kitchen you'll find stainless steel appliances and a gas range, as well as a thoroughly stocked pantry. The range and refrigerator are both full size. A gas BBQ grill is located on the porch for your convenience. No need to bring any charcoal!

The master bedroom has a king size bed with a full bathroom next door. You will find a full size washer and dryer in the laundry area, on the first floor.

The entire second floor sleeps an additional 6 people, with 4 single beds and a queen sofa sleeper. There is a screen partition that helps divide this area. A large full bathroom with a shower is on the second floor. This area is roomy and spacious.

Spend plenty of time relaxing on the front porch with comfortable seating areas and ceiling fans, overlooking the wooded hillside. This secluded cabin does not allow you to see any neighbors. In the summer, enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, and leisure walks. In winter, enjoy hiking and roasting marshmallows over the campfire. The dock area requires about a 3-4 minute walk downhill from the cabin.

This cabin is located in the Peter Cave Area of Rough River. The Rough River State Park, along with the Grayson Landing Restaurant, is a 15 minute drive. The city of Leitchfield is a 10 minute drive with shopping and dining. Louisville has multiple venues ranging from Churchill Downs horse racing, Louisville Slugger Bat Museum, Mohamed Ali Museum, the University of Louisville, sports arenas, arts and plays and is 1 1/2 hours north. Bowling Green, KY host the Corvette Museum and is 1 hour south of the cabin. Owensboro is 50 minutes away. Mammoth Cave National Park is a 50 minute drive from the cabin and reservations are recommended.

Such a wonderful place!

Had an amazing girls weekend here. The house is in its own private secluded area, which was super nice. We enjoyed swimming off the wonderful dock, as well as hanging out on the nice deck! Overall an amazing weekend in such a nice comfortable place.

The cabin was beautiful. It was very clean and had everything we needed and more. We loved the private dock and the trail to the water was a nice walk. We had a great time and our son was so sad we had to leave. We would definitely recommend this cabin for a quiet getaway.

We had a wonderful "girls" trip. We cooked, swam, kayaked and took morning walks.

The property was fantastic and was my second time staying. The cabin is always well stocked and clean. The location is great and the dock and kayaks are the biggest draw for us. Teri is phenomenal and stays on top of everything. We are planning to make this an annual girls trip.

Beautiful property. The cabin was amazing. Had a slip for our boat, and the kids were able to swim without worry of boat traffic on the river. The kayaks were an added bonus that the adults and the kids enjoyed. Will probably visit again in the future.

I live in Louisville and can reach this little get-a-way in 1 1/2 hrs. It is great to be so close and have only a short drive there and especially when it's time to return home. The problem is, I never want to leave it!

Why they chose this property

This cabin is unlike many that we had previously seen. The pine walls make you feel like your in a cabin and not another home. There is no drywall. My favorite spot is the front porch that overlooks nothing but a canopy of trees. In the evening, with the flood lights on, you are so close to the trees that it feels like a treehouse.

What makes this property unique

The privacy of this cabin is another unique feature that we love. Sitting on the front porch and enjoying our morning coffee while listening only to birds singing is very relaxing. You do not see any neighbors, or multiple sets of staircases transcending the landscape.

Our boat dock is in a cove by itself. No other docks, or people. This gives us a large swim and boating area in which to play. We also enjoy reading and relaxing on the dock under the umbrella. You can see many beautiful birds and sunsets from the dock, over the lake.
There was an eagle nest close by this past summer.
